Rainbow Ranch
Lovely spot to camp. So close to the Petrified Forest National Park. Tha driveway in is need of repair. After a small rain our 4 wheel drive had a hard time getting out. Very slippery and rutted.

Rainbow Ranch
Pretty location but couldn’t stay
Unfortunately we could not access the property. The road had been washed out by rain. The alternative route had thick tire ruts and mud. Our 4WD vehicle struggled so we didn’t risk the campervan getting stuck. The host didn’t seem to have a solution for us so we had to drive 25 miles to find a campsite for the night.

Sunshine Tent at Rainbow Ranch
Mostly nice, needs a few things
Overall it was a really nice tent and location, downsides were the road to get there, parts were washed out and it was a challenge! The other drawback we found was the uncovered bucket toilet. The outhouse set up was really pretty well done except that it rained and it had no roof so we dealt with wet toilet paper and rain when we used it. I think a few more thoughtful touches would make all the difference. We also added on wood and eggs and never did receive either which was sad.

Green site 4
This was a real convenience, to be able to roll into our campsite, all we needed to do was throw down our mats and sleeping bags in the tent and go to sleep. It was a great way to break up a long drive to Colorado.

Rainbow Ranch Fun Size Come & Go #2
Vast, majestic wide open land
I loved camping here! It’s probably the most remote wide open space I’ve ever camped. Gorgeous views of the National Park area and beyond. It’s a dark sky area too, so the stars were over the top amazing. Toilet is not for the faint of heart, but it accomplished the need. Sturdy, roomy tent. It was a bonus not to have to set mine up. Do heed the advice of the hosts and make sure to arrive in daylight the first time to make things go smoothly. Hosts we friendly and responsive, worth every penny and would definitely return!

Weekend roadtrip.
We enjoyed our stay got to see some beautiful sun sets and a few double rainbows. They were very helpful when we had questions. Would come back and stay again. If we are ever up that way again.
