Lee's favorite song and the inspiration behind our name is "Puff the Magic Dragon" by Peter, Paul and Mary. A land of whimsical imagination, beauty and maybe a dragon or three is our shared vision for the farm.
The camping options are flexible, ranging from prepared campsites along both Little and Deep creeks with composting outhouses nearby, to "Camper's Choice" options where you may hike in or drive in and create your own camping experience. Please note that since the "Camper's Choice" options allow freedom to select hike-in or drive-in options, the exact distance to nearest outhouse may vary.
There are 144 acres to explore so campers can set up a secluded getaway or cluster together in a group.

Honah Lee Farms has over 140 acres of woods with open fields distributed throughout. We are bordered to the south by the Flat River, to the west by Deep Creek, and to the north by Little Creek. Most of our campsites are nestled in the trees along one of these bodies of water and all campers have access to the 10 foot waterfall area where Deep Creek runs into the Flat River.

We have sheep, pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. Take a walk to say hello, don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats.
Pork and lamb from our farm (as well as kiln-dried firewood) is available for purchase at our farm store.

Our farm is an agritourism/sheep farm that offers seasonal events, educational workshops, a petting zoo, Bed and Breakfast, farm store, and camping area!
We are a working farm during the week but we allow campers to park on weekends or weekdays. The price is the same except the petting zoo and farm store are only open on weekends.
We don't have hookups, so bring a generator if you need it. If you need to fill up your RV water tank, we charge $10. Each of the 3 sites has a fire ring and picnic table.
A Grill Pavilion is available to rent for $20 extra. See photos. Propane, grill, table and party lights included.
We allow check-ins during the week after 12 noon, perfect for folks passing through and just need a safe and quiet place to park for the night and not interested in visiting the farm store, the barnyard or the rest of the farm, which are closed during week.
If you are looking for interaction with the animals, or need supplies from the farm store, we open from 10-4 weekends only. You can purchase feed for the animals for $1/bag then. We have sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, turkeys, guinea pigs and geese!
While we are dog-friendly, we do not allow dogs closer to the petting zoo area. We offer a 1+ acre fenced in area next to the camping sites where you can allow your dogs off-leash. No extra charge.
Our camping area is a large grassy field that will accommodate multiple tent campers, travel trailers, and RVs under 30' with room to turn around, stake your area, and not feel crowded.
There is also 1 regularly maintained porta potty located in this area.

The Saxapahaw Country Club is a beautiful 31-acre working farm and event space. Guests are welcome to wander the fields, relax in the hammocks, fish the stocked pond, or enjoy the giant swing suspended from the branches of our 200-year-old white oak tree.
The Country Club is an ideal spot for a quiet evening under the stars, a peaceful retreat after shows at the Haw River Ballroom, or a basecamp for exploring the river, shops, and restaurants of Saxapahaw. Chapel Hill, Mebane, Hillsborough, and Pittsboro are all just a short drive away.
In addition to camping, we host weddings, reunions, retreats, corporate functions, and other private events, as well as public gatherings throughout the year. On arrival you'll come down our curvy driveway through the trees, and see our event barn on the left. In front of the barn is a communal space for campers to enjoy with a great view. This area has a fire pit, chairs, wood-fired grill, handwashing station, and farm table. The shared outhouse/composting toilet is next to the pine stand with a white roof.
We have sheep, pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. Take a walk to say hello, don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats.
Pork and lamb from our farm (as well as kiln-dried firewood) is available for purchase at our farm store.

We stayed at this cabin at Holly Forest for a few nights over thanksgiving. The cabin held our little family (2 adults 2 young kids) well on the loft bed and the pull-out couch. The grounds are beautiful and we had a ton of fun at the basketball court and the field next to it. We cooked food in the provided toaster oven/air fryer but could have easily used the common area equipment too (grill, griddle pan, pizza oven). Hosts were responsive to our needs. Bathrooms were clean and close to our cabin. We would come back!

I love this farm space and Rebecca who runs it. I rented the pine run site. Spacious and comfortable. Walks around the farms are beautiful feeding a friendly horse and saying hi to the goats and chickens.
Rebecca offers breakfasts st a reasonable fee but i missed that during my second visit here.

Overview
About
A quick 10 miles from Durham, Eno River State Park is a riparian refuge featuring 14 miles of the winding Eno River and 31 miles of hiking trails. The fast-running and shallow Eno River is ideal for fly fishing, wading, and paddling. After a good rain, canoers and kayakers may encounter class I, II, and III rapids. Although there are no frontcountry (drive-up) campgrounds at Eno River State Park, the park has two backcountry campgrounds that require 1- to 1.2-mile hikes in. With fire pits, benches, tent pads, and lantern hooks, the Eno River campsites offer cozy and immersive forest camping experiences. If you’re looking for a frontcountry camping alternative nearby, check out the Falls Lake State Recreation Area.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for bridge lovers: The approach to the Fanny’s Ford Campground crosses a scenic suspension footbridge.
- Best for peace in the backcountry: The Piper Creek Campground is in the park’s lesser-visited Cole Mill section.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- All Eno River State Park campsites are available for booking six months in advance. You can reserve sites online or by calling (877) 722-6762.
- With just five sites at each campground, booking ahead is essential—especially for weekends and summers.
When to go
Eno River State Park’s campgrounds are open year round. Spring visitors may encounter wildflowers and stronger currents on the Eno River. Come autumn, the park’s deciduous trees put on a lovely fall foliage transformation. Summer highs are in the upper 80s, while winter visitors should come prepared for freezing temperatures and the possibility of snow or ice.
Know before you go
- Backcountry campers should be prepared to hike to their sites carrying all of their supplies and to pack out all of their garbage.
- Both backcountry campgrounds have a pit toilet.
- Eno River’s backcountry campsites offer no potable water source. For current information on drinking water options, contact the park rangers at (984) 250-1370.
- Anglers can fish for largemouth bass, bluegill, redbreast sunfish, and Roanoke bass in the Eno River.
- The park contains 7.5 miles of North Carolina’s Mountains-to-Sea State Trail.
- Paddlers have five access points to launch on the Eno River within the park.

The Eno River State Park has several campgrounds, and probably my favorite spots for camping in the Triangle area. They're quiet, you hike in, and they're in some very nice woods and by a beautiful river!
