Weekend Trip to Casa de Campo

Casa de Campo was everything we were looking for and more! It had everything we needed to be comfortable and the cabin is beautifully decorated. The space is secluded and private with great tree coverage - in the fall, the leaves were gorgeous! Liz and Kevin were so thoughtful and attentive and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. My wife and I went there to stay the weekend, we loved that and we are definitely going there again! Angela and Arnold are awesome hosts! We felt super welcomed to their place. The place is lovely and seems that it has come out straight from a storybook, the birds that come at our hands, super relaxing and intimate. They have a nice bbq, the space is well organized and clean, and have everything that we needed to just relax without worries. If you are wondering if you should go there’s or not, take my word, you are gonna love it, please go. To Angela and Arnold, thank you so much for the great conversations and laughter, we felt like we’ve known each other for a while!

Weekend Trip to Ballyduff Escapes

Wonderful place for weekend getaway! Excellent privacy. Have garbage cans which is a huge plus. Most sites don’t offer them. Well decorated washroom, with sink and water. Off leash friendly, our dog was very happy. Most importantly there is this beautiful pavilion, with lights at night and big enough for at least 10+ ppl. Everything is just perfect.

1 night at Foresthill Retreat

Dale's yurt-style tent was an excellent spot for us to meet up and rest for one night before our canoe trip in the Kawartha Highlands. Dale was quick to respond to my questions and went out of his way to provide wine glasses. The electric fireplace was a welcome feature on a cool night. We made breakfast at the well-supplied outdoor kitchen. The light at the outhouse was a nice touch, though it could have used some cleaning. Thanks a bunch, Dale.

Our stay at Kevin and Liz’s cabin was absolutely wonderful. The place is so cozy and full of warmth, you can really feel that it was created with love and care. Every little detail is thoughtfully arranged to make guests feel comfortable. We had such a peaceful weekend, surrounded by nature and total privacy, it felt like a little escape from the world. If the outdoor shower setup and the outhouse can be fixed up a bit that would make it even more comfortable, but overall it was a great value for the price and I would 100% recommend this.

We had again an amazing experience at Sharrons. This was our second time staying here and i believe now this is going be every year. My 5 yr old loved every single moment here especially the beautiful animals. She fed them, played with them and even held a bunny. It was a dream come true for her. Beautiful, well maintained site. Great for big groups or off leash pets. Amanda has put a lot of work into making guests feel comfortable and welcome on her property. The outhouse, gazebo, volleyball nets and night lights all over the site are great. Also very close to Ganaraska forest for hiking trails. She was also very respectful of our privacy. Will be booking again!👍🏻

Natalie's bunkie is a truly magical place! The cabin itself is so cozy and thoughtfully provisioned with everything you could need all season round, from practical supplies like cutlery and cookware and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on cool autumn nights to board games and paperback books and even a portable DVD player for makeshift movie screenings, if you can peel your eyes away from the view of the starry night sky. The bunkie sits on a scenic body of water and a waterfall that make for great canoeing and swimming or admiring over morning coffee, and the rest of Natalie's property is bursting with whimsical art installments as well as gardens, fire pits, fairy lights, and fields of flowers. My partner and I have visited twice - in the summer and the in the fall - and have found each season and each stay so uniquely gorgeous and relaxing. If you are looking for a place to retreat from the noise of the world, the bunkie is perfect. Natalie is so warm and welcoming and has put so much care and attention into providing people with a home away from home.

From the moment we arrived, the hosts welcomed us back with open arms, making us feel right at home. The magic of this place is all thanks to the incredible hosts who treat every guest like family. We had a great time visiting with the farm animals and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of their barn. The provided firewood was a thoughtful touch that made our nights around the campfire so much easier. Wildwood Cottage sits on 6.5 acres overlooking Otonabee River. In the spring summer and fall we have 6 cottages and 2 bunkies. November to April we keep 3 cottages open with hot tubs and wood burning fireplaces. You can watch the birds off your porch, go for a swim at the beach, use a complementary canoe or even rent a boat or seadoo to explore farther! In the summer months we offer a swimming area equipped with kayaks and water inflatables. In the winter, there is a skating rink when the weather permits! Generally Jan & Feb. Dec and Mar the weather sometimes is not cold enough. One of the best things to do any season - sit at your own fire pit and enjoy the clear sky full of stars while listening to the sounds of natures. We are also pet friendly!

Our land is very private and beautifully sheltered by trees all around the campsite. There is an open field as well that also has trees on the outskirts. A video is available upon request! Fenella is a small village about 7 min away that has a large convenience/ grocery/Beer store as well as gas stations and Canabis beyond belief ! Go carts, food trucks and the best Butter Tart Factory as well! Warkworth is a town east of us about 20 min and Cobourg is 20 min South of us. Many shopping experiences available. Primrose Donkey Sanctuary is down the road a few minutes which we highly suggest visiting. Look their hours up before planning a visit! We have easy access up our road about 1 km to the Northumberland Trails where you can ride your horses, cycle, ride your ATVs,walk or jog. We have goats and can provide goat walks on our own trails. Goat walks are about 30 minutes generally and $15 per walk. Our own Free Range eggs are available for $7/doz as well as firewood for $10 per bundle Dogs are welcome as long as they are constantly on a leash, as we have chickens that free range! We ask that you bring your own water and hydro please. We hosted 35-40 endurance horses and their riders in August of 2022! We welcome tents and all trailers!

The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river. Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area. All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals. There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!! PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices. ***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this. We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests. This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience. Historical Significance of the property When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place. It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

This MICRO cabin hide away becomes a perfect home base to unplug, relax, read, cook over a open fire or close enough to explore the area. Our cabin is perfect for the camper who enjoys, and is familiar with camping and the outdoors! We offer rustic, with a bit of extra glam to your camping experience! Although the cabin is insulated, and there is a small realistic looking electric heater...in the cooler months it only takes off the chill. You'll want to pack warmer clothing for the cooler nights. You'll find a lovely outdoor stone firepit with a grill to enjoy cozy campfires or to cook on. The site is provided with a picnic table/umbrella, rustic outdoor furniture, and a clean, simple outhouse, also a small outdoor kitchen and hand washing area. Propane stove and propane is provided. Inside the cabin there is a jug of water for your morning coffee. Coffee maker, mugs, plates, utensils are provided There are 4 single foam mattresses that make up a single bed, or three 4 double foldout foam mattresses to accommodate two. We are 5 minutes to the quaint town of Norwood, and minutes to Hastings Trent River's fishing adventures! We are close to all the needed amenities. Although there is some wood to use, we encourage our hipcamper to pick up 2 bags of dry wood as may be damp. If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 80 acres 8 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply turn into our driveway and drive right past our house following the dirt path. Turn left just down the hill to the River. We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters. Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch . We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy . We have a complementary canoe, 1 adult kayak, 1 adult SUP and 1 child’s kayaks . Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks. 1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies. We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in. The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 24 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more. A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road . If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. We are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point or any jugs you may have. Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a water filling station and dumping station there for a small fee from the park. Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the Empire Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory all within 10 minutes from our house . We also have local Breweries in the area, one being about 8 minutes away called the Fogorig Brewing. Campbellford is full of little shops and stores. It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen. We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message. Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival but we can ensure that we will always have someone by phone for you to reach if need be at all times.

Stay in a Rustic Bunkie situated a distance from the road surrounded by trees and walking trails over 60 acres. The bunkie features a queen mattress, 4 windows and if desired, the mattress can be rolled up to accommodate a centre table for card playing. For those looking for local attractions: Westben Theatre, Launch your fishing boat or kayak at Trent River Monument (9 km from site), Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Seymour Conservation Area (with a quarry for swimming), Dooher's Bakery, Empire Cheese, Church-Key Brewing, Fogorig Brewing and several food and restaurant establishments are available in Campbellford area. If you forgot to pack something, Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Stedman's, Sharpe's or No Frills may offer what you need. Only 13 km to Campbellford or 12 km to Havelock.
