Pine Ridge has been developed over the years to be a natural park land with a good variety of local vegetation including stands of mature trees. lower scrub has been removed for physical and viewing access and to keep the property more secure and manageable. The vegetation also provides significant protection on windy days compared to many other open places. Native animals and birdlife abound the location. There is a community pergola area beside the substantial water hole which has a small jetty allowing easy access for swimming. There is also a stone barbecue and fire pit area available on suitable weather conditions. There are ocean views from the property's main road areas, which also provide a large area of flatish firm ground with large areas providing easy maneuverability and turning. The property is 2-3km from the main highway turn off that leads to the Douglas Apsley National Park. The corner of the property is only 50 meters from the park edge, with the Parks main access several km further along Rosedale Rd. The turn off is only 2 km from the town edge. It is sealed road except for the last 100meters and in good condition. FIRES. Ok unless a fire ban. GOOD BAGS OF WOOD ON SITE FOR $20. NO OUTSIDE WOOD CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PROPERTY AND BURNT. The toilet is a private eco-throne with a view to Bare Rock. It is composting and only a short walk from the cabin. We provide you with wood for the indoor wood stove, an esky, bed linen, towels, tea-towels, basic kitchenware, cooking basics and toilet paper. The kitchen sink and bath water comes from a spring fed dam, perfect for washing your dishes and bathing in. Please bring your own fresh drinking water. Please note this is rustic accommodation, the cabin doesn’t have 240v, only a solar powered charging port with USB-A/C inputs to recharge the camping lanterns and your devices. You may wish to bring head torches for night time reading and card games! There is no wifi available but there is strong mobile phone service. Fingal is fondly known by the locals as "the Valley", and hosts several coffee and food vans for travellers passing through. WildWing Retreat is a beautiful 25 acre bush block in Four Mile Creek, located within a 15 minute (1km) walk, to the local surf beach of Four Mile. The property has been created to host retreats centred around nature immersion, movement and connection (i.e yoga, bodywork, dance, meditation, mindfuness, embodiment practices etc) and in the 'off season' it's available to host hipcampers! Because the space has been designed to host large groups, there are a bunch of facilities available to use, such as compost toilets, a fully equipped communal kitchen with fresh running hot & water, solar lights and gas cookers, an undercover deck area, hot showers, and a cedar barrel hot tub (refer to the extras section for hot tub use!). We also have a small stream on the property, with a little waterhole for plunging in and are surrounded by native wildlife. The property blooms with native Kunzea bushes, wattles, native cherries and various varieties of eucalyptus. WildWing is also our home, so we have our own set up, on a different section of the property. This means that we are nearby if needed, but that we all have our own space on the property :). There is a beautiful large fresh water river and waterhole just down the road (15 minute walk, or 2 minute drive), and aside from the surf beach down the front, we are also only a 10-15 minute drive from a bunch of other beautiful and popular surf beaches on the east coast. The whole area is great for fishing, boating, surfing, bike riding, walking and short hikes. We are a 10 minute drive from Falmouth, a 25 minute drive from the St Helens mountain bike trails, a 30 minute drive from Bicheno & Douglas Apsley National Park, a 45 minute drive from the infamous Bay of Fires and an hours drive from the Freycinet National Park. We are passionate about outdoor living and supporting the natural environment and have created WildWing with the intention to support others to have unique and beautiful experiences in nature, while caring for the land they inhabit.

The block has mains power; solar power and tank water. The block is surrounded by local endemic shrubs, trees and ground covers. We provide firewood, linen for the comfortable double bed, condiments for the fully equipped kitchen that includes crockery, cutlery, a fridge, a gas cooker, air fryer, sandwich toaster, camp oven, water etc. Just bring your clothes and food. The block is in a quiet coastal hamlet (with gravel roads and no street lights) ideal for beach and lagoon activities (surfing, walking, paddling, bird watching). Our 2 person sit on kayak is at the tidal lagoon 5 min walk away. We have crafted this space over a number of years for personal use and now would like others to experience it. The cellar door is open 11-4, and offers chocolate and wine pairings, and normal tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers! We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

Keep under a metre, ensure the ground is cleared around and attend until extinguished. Pets are welcome, especially dogs 👍 There are private walking trails on the property. St Helens is under fifteen minutes away, Bay of Fires 25 minutes. Scamander 5 minutes. The famous St Helens bike trails are under ten minutes drive or accessible on your bike via the back trails. Ride direct to the trail heads! There is fantastic nine hole golf course at Scamander. Huckaway is a little camping oasis just off the Tasman Highway. Green pastures are bordered by forestry land to the East and a river to the South. Go for a bush walk through the forest, a swim or fish in the river, you might even find a trout! This property is the perfect location if you are here to enjoy either the Derby trails or the St Helens trails with some of the shuttles going straight past the front gate! St Helens is a 15-minute drive away and The Bay of Fires is 30 mins. The wide camping area has plenty of open flat space to park any type of caravan or van. Park down near the river, or tuck yourself in beside the forest, up to you. All campers need to be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, and we kindly request you take all your waste with you. Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter. Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby. A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful! Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat. Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). You can now find us and follow us on Facebook. Search Derby Frasers Flats. No Motorbikes to be used on site. No motorbikes to be used at this camp. Property is located a 5 minutes' drive out of Derby. You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride. Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm. Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub. We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince. The property surrounding Aplite House is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna including orchids, Tasmanian devils, wombats, possums, wallabies, quolls, and wedge-tail eagles. Architecturally designed by Stephen Geason. Stephen was commissioned as a Director of the prominent Hobart Architectural firm Dock 4. He was selected because of his appreciation for Tasmania and the Freycinet region. The brief was to design a solar passive, site-specific home used for short to medium-length, self-catering stays of guests, with multiple locations to relax, built using Tasmanian materials. Stephen first visited the property prior to any site preparation, he walked over the entire property and discussed the location.

We live on site (a few acres away across the rivulet) and are delighted to offer 12 opportunities for self-contained campers to camp on our private land and share our passion for the area. This is a leave no trace property that suits self-contained campers who bring everything they need and remove everything they bring. Well behaved dogs and humans are all welcome. Beautiful located right beside the Ringarooma River. Fish in the river, swim or just spot a platypus in the river. There is a kayak that you are welcome to use to have a paddle in the water. We have a 40ft shipping container now on site, this has books and games you are welcome to use during your stay. It also has jams, sauces and honey for sale. You can now find us and follow us on Facebook. Search Derby Frasers Flats. No Motorbikes to be used on site. No motorbikes to be used at this camp. Property is located a 5 minutes' drive out of Derby. You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride. Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm. Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub. We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince. By arrangement if time permits I can arrange for a cost of $20 per person a look at our dairy during milking.

We loved our stay at Fraser Flats! Beautiful river, kayaks to use, fire pits provided, dump point for use and a peaceful, tranquil area to camp! Brilliant location and 4kms either way to Derby and/or Braxholm. Rosie is such a wonderful host, super friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our farm tour! Would highly recommend!

We loved our visit to Jonathan’s Hipcamp. He was a fabulous host visiting daily offering to take kids on tractor, ATV rides, bringing carrots to feed the horse, offering tourist tips. Kids loved their time in the outside bath, building bike jumps, exploring the property. We loved the quiet location and would love to return some time. We share the camp with 2 families and it was a lovely atmosphere.

We had the BEST time during our stay at Mike and Sheena’s boho retreat. It was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed for us to feel at home away from home. The area itself is exactly what we were hoping for: quiet and secluded with a beautiful beach that went on for miles without seeing another soul, but still only a fifteen minute drive from St Marys for any supplies needed. What made it even more special was being able to bring our fur babies along with us. We have two very happy (and tired!) doggies from a weekend full of beach days. We would love to stay here again one day, and have already recommended it to many of our friends.

We camped up on the highest campspot on the property. It is on a hill but we had no trouble with our 18ft van. Loved the outdoor bath. Johnothan came up and had a yarn. Great fellow and left us to enjoy. Rode our bikes to the Derby trails and came back to a lovley quiet camp at night.

I loved the well crafted shelters, each with beautiful features, made from the timber grown on-site and found materials. The bush setting was peaceful and restoring, and the short amble down to the beach was a delight. The plumbing seemed like a sculpture, and worked well, solar hot and fresh cold water. Danny welcomed us warmly and we felt at home and comfortable.

It's quiet, very peaceful and just what we needed for a few days after our initial Aussie lap kicking off 3 months ago with our two purrballs 😺😺(harnessed and strickly supervised, DO NOT freerange any pets, lots of wallabies and birds about!)
