This is a working farm approx 70% cleared remainder bush. Sub Alpine so the temperature can change quickly and snow, the area has quite a verity of bird and animals. There are currently 5 paddocks available no set campsites you pick your own site near mountain stream or in the bush also available is a self-contained cottage (view our separate listing for Calabash Manager's Cottage). This has 4 bedrooms bathroom, 3 rooms have queen size and 1 has a single, kitchen, heating when required is a slow combustion wood stove very relaxing. There are no amenities for campers, please BYO and leave no trace. There is plenty of branches and wood on the ground for a fire but please no fires when fire bans in place. Dogs are OK but as we are a sheep property they must be well controlled and on a leash and not left to roam. We prefer smaller dogs. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Plenty of firewood around to gather your own. If you want it cut it for you then buy some as an extra and add it to your order. Please check with the host on arrival regarding local fire conditions. No set areas for camping - choose when you get here. Suitable for caravans, motor homes, tents. Lots of options! No mobile phone reception if you walk around the paddock you may get a signal, If you need to contact us once you have a booking, contact us via email or landline. Bush camping on 100 acres in the Tinderry Range at about 1400 metres altitude. Seclusion and adventure all within an hour of Canberra and twenty minutes from Michelago and the Monaro highway. Big skies and dark nights for star-gazing are likely; or perhaps you'll be nestled in cloud; or hidden by falling snow. There are numerous tracks with spectacular views around the property for bush walking or mountain bike riding. The tracks are surrounded by sub-alpine flora and fauna (such as wallaby's, wombats, lyrebirds) and nearby in the Tinderry Nature Reserve. Tinderry Range is a rugged range east of the Monaro highway accessed mostly through Michelago or an hour and a half from Braidwood (when dirt roads are reasonable). The range is only around 70km away from the coast, thus enabling a sea mist to often roll over us in the late afternoon. Summer temperatures are a pleasant 6 degrees or so cooler than nearby Canberra. You may choose between a number of options for camping depending on your camping desires and set up. There are numerous tracks around our property or nearby Tinderry Nature Reserve. You may go exploring to find the springs or choose to stick to easy walking tracks that follow the contours. We will provide a map. Tracks are also great for mountain bike riding and exploring the unusual mix of sub-alpine, montane and coastal flora and fauna. There is numerous species of bird life and regular calls from lyre birds. This area has fascinating history with the largest eucalyptus distillery in Australia until the late 1950's and very popular with a number of bushrangers such as the Clarke Brothers who had numerous hideouts. No amenities. BYO camping toilet and leave no trace. Campfires (except on fire ban days or when we advise otherwise) are okay--usually recommended. Normally dry firewood is easy to find, or purchase some from us if you prefer. The exception is the bell tent glamping option,' Tin Can Ridge Glamping' which has a toilet included as well as firewood and shortly its own wood stove! Some campsites are best accessed by 4WD, or on foot. or gain access to the glamping tent with us escorting you. Camp lightly. No hunting. Do nothing illegal. Take all waste with you. Respect the land, the wildlife and people. Keep the peace. Enjoy.

On clear nights, the stars here are spellbinding. We have many animals here too! View our placid Scottish Galloway cattle (currently with calves!) pat our friendly poddy Cody and grab a photo opportunity. We also have a beautiful horse Ali and her yearling colt diesel, just watch your fingers with him, gelded now but still thinks he’s a stallion. 5 fat Dorper sheep look like running rugs running around. A real country experience! An Angora goat and slashed tracks to access the beautiful 130 acres around the farm. The small village of Michelago is 5km from our property, has the fuel servo and a terrific General Store, which serves great burgers and milkshakes plus much more. 20mins to the town of Bredbo with its own pub is great for counter lunches and dinners. The Town of Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy mountains is a 40 min drive south. Also if you want to go camping with friends and introduce them to the great outdoors and they don’t have the gear ask about our hire service of all things needed to have a great camp, some are listed but more is always available to hire, just send me a message. A shared toilet and hot shower is located 80m from the accommodation. You will have access to drinking water if required. Excellent spot, setup and hosts. Kylie and Anthony made us feel more than welcome and we will be back… we got home and my kids asked if we could go back tomorrow…. That’s a good review! Haha Words are hard…. Go and check it out. It’s the only way to experience this one! If ya don’t like it…. Go back to the caravan parks…. It’s not a caravan park… its living at its best! The accommodation growth plan sounds awesome, enough space for growth with no effect to the experience. Adding toilets does change the type of people…. That’s my only feedback…. But in saying that 7days on a portapotty with 4 x people…. It was full!! Just means you can stay longer…. Which isn’t a major problem to have! Get out there!

Beautiful property! So close to the river, excellent for a swim, floatables for the kids and paddleboarding. Great having access to our own toilet - clean and tidy. Road coming in was quite steep but given the dry conditions we had no trouble at all. Owner was lovely and friendly! Firepit well set up and access to firewood! Will definitely be coming again!

We had a great couple of days at Mymossa farm . Nice camp site and firepit along side the Dua River. Kayaks supplied if you want to go for a paddle. Martin is a nice guy, came down to make sure we well all good . Clean toilets as well. We will be back.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay on Spring Creek Farm. Bill was a great host and guided us to our site on arrival. Peaceful spot with panoramic views of the country side, out in the open but private. Lots of firewood around and we caught a glimpse of the resident wombat.

We had a great stay here. Martin was a welcoming host - he greeted us on arrival and was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The site itself was wonderfully quiet, with excellent birdlife all around. The river looked perfect for swimming, and having fireplaces provided was a real bonus, especially in the evenings. It was really lovely staying at Mymossa Farm! We were only there for one night as we were passing through, but we drove down in our sedan to the site with no issues - just had to take it slow. There is a riverbank that is so peaceful and Martin is such a great host and came down to chat to us. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing campsite

What an amazing spot! My partner and I stayed here and were greeted by Martin, he was super helpful and showed us to our site. Beautiful private campsites with river views. kayaks to use, plenty of firewood, clean toilet and my partner even caught an Aussie bass fly fishing in the river! Would recommend highly.

Quiet, private and surrounded by bushland. The river was accessible easily. We were fortunate to grab the last one of only 5 sites during the busy post-Xmas period. Loved staying here! Highly recommend if you love simple secluded bush camping.

This was my second time camping here, and I really enjoy this place. It’s very peaceful and ideal for a relaxing escape. The only drawbacks are that the toilet is quite far, there’s no drinking water available, and the road is very dusty. Firewood was not permitted during our stay, but we still had a great time overall. A lovely spot for those who come prepared and appreciate quiet, natural surroundings.
