Located on the Murrumbidgee River, The Homestead is a mixed sheep and cropping property, predominantly producing cotton and winter cereals. It features many historical buildings such as the shearing shed, shearers' quarters, and stables. It's the perfect place fish, relax or camp. There is a place to load your boat and enjoy some fishing.
The township of Darlington Point is located 15 - 20 minutes drive away.
There are two options for you to enjoy this beautiful property.
The River Cabin:
We have a modern, fresh cabin that can accommodate up to 2 guests, with the option of a further 6 guests to camp near it where they'll be able to use the cabin as a base, and will have access to power and water.
Self-contained camping:
Hyde Park: We have a beautiful open area to camp along the Murrumbidgee River, which is fantastic for a group of self-contained campers. Plenty of room, open country and riverside fun. One booking at a time, so you have this entire area to yourselves. All campers here must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, power and drinking water.
Mossy's Beach : A more secluded spot featuring a beautiful sandbar which is fantastic for a group of self-contained campers. One booking at a time, so you have this entire area to yourselves. All campers here must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, power and drinking water.
All options are very private from one another, so you are assured your own space.
This is a working mixed-farming operation and so, there will be usual farming activity around the property which may include, vehicles mustering, motorbikes, irrigation pumps in use etc.
Pets are welcome but MUST be supervised at all times and must be contained at night.

My partner and I stayed here with our dog for two nights, absolutely beautiful grassy spot right by the billabong! We had the place to ourselves and Shane was absolutely amazing. So helpful and kind, really went above and beyond. Ammenities were really good. Really good swimming and paddle boarding in the creek. It felt very private and we had the best time. Wish we stayed longer! Thank you Shane!!!

If you’re passing through or looking to unwind for a few nights in nature, this caravan park on the banks of Billabong Creek is an absolute gem. The lush grassed sites make setting up a breeze, with all the comforts from home clearly cared for showers and toilets and a nice pool to cool off in those hotter days. The shed kitchen is fantastic. Dogs are welcomed, which is always a bonus.
With a boat ramp right at your doorstep, perfect for dropping in the tinny or casting a line straight off the bank. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, breathe, and just enjoy the peaceful creekside vibe.
Kelly and Shane are wonderful hosts, warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making sure guests feel at home. The whole park has a relaxed, chilled atmosphere that makes it very easy to settle in.
Highly recommend this spot. We’ll definitely be back.

The camping area is peaceful and well set up, with plenty of space and a genuine sense of being on a working property. We really enjoyed our stay at Burraburoon’s farmstay and our dog loved it too. It’s a good place to relax and enjoy nature. Just something for future campers to be aware of: we saw 2-3 monitor lizard around the area three to four times during our stay. It didn’t bother us, but it’s helpful to know what to expect when camping here.

Joe and Sharon are the most beautiful hipcamp hosts. Joe is so generous with his time - showing us around the farm and farm store. We loved learning about Joe’s nut trees especially, and the life he shares with Sharon. Sharon has a knack for homemade chutneys and jams. We think of you guys every time we reach for our balsamic vinegar and mustard.

What a fantastic place to stay! We camped with the van for a week and it was perfect. The camp kitchen has all you could need and is neat and clean. The toilet and shower blocks are also very clean. There was plenty of wildlife, emus, eagles, kangaroos and goannas. The kayaks and private lake was perfect for the hot summer days. Fire pits available for the cooler nights.
Hosts Tertia and Ken lovely and very accommodating.
We would highly recommend this camp to everyone!

We loved this site. It was remote, has a great fire pit and lovely red dirt. The hosts were really easy to communicate with and the site was easy to find. We like being away from it all so this was great for us. The stars at night time were brilliant as was the drive in with so many emus (with babies) to spot. We loved our night here.

We loved staying here! Jo and Sharon were excellent hosts. The farm is beautiful and quiet. We parked behind the machinery shed with our truck and 22ft caravan. Drive through, plenty of room. 10mins to Griffith. Well worth the stop. PS Take the very interesting farm tour if you have time.

Primitive Paddock Camping at it's best.
Great flat ground, easy to set up and good access for the caravan.
Having sheep, kangaroos and emus visit us was an added bonus.
Ken was a great host, he met us on the camp grounds went through the do's and should not's.

Oolambeyan National Park is a treasure trove for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Venture into the park's grasslands and woodlands for a day of birdwatching, picnicking, and bushwalking. Explore the historic Oolambeyan Homestead and its orchard, or take to the trails on foot or by bike for an immersive journey through time and nature.
When to go
The best times to visit Oolambeyan National Park are during autumn, with the homestead's roses in full bloom, and spring, when rainbow bee-eaters arrive and wildflowers carpet the landscape. Winter is ideal for spotting superb parrots amid the cypress pines and boree woodland.
Know before you go
- Oolambeyan National Park is open from 6am to 8pm but may close due to poor weather or fire danger.
- There is limited mobile phone reception, so download the Emergency Plus app for safety.
- Be prepared for outback conditions, especially in summer when temperatures can soar.
- Remember, pets and smoking are not permitted within the park.
- For any enquiries, contact the Griffith office from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
