Watch the sunset into the world famous San Juan Islands. Our property is located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive. It is a 15 minute walk to Taylor United's Seafood Bar that has beer and wine. You will need boots just below the knee, or hiking shoes that will get wet. The Creek crossing is a little deeper this year. You will also be crossing a muddy area for about 20 yards, you will sink about 3 inches into the mud. The hike into the campsite takes 12 minutes. You need to contact me to check the tides, as to be able to get to the campsite. We need to hike in below a 5 foot tide. Starting October, the campsite closes for winter. Again , this campsite is Tide dependent. The first question to me should be, What is the latest we can hike in? I am not Moses, I can’t part the sea.Right off scenic Chuckanut drive. On the edge of Samish bay. Oyster dining within walking distance, or we will supply you with oysters from our own beds just feet from your sleeping bags. Watch the sunset into the world famous San Juan Islands. In order to get to the site you have to time it correctly with the tides so anyone camping will need to coordinate with me prior! Also it is a 12 minute hike to the site. You will hike across a creek, about 8 inches deep. Then 25 yards of mud, you will sink a couple inches into the mud. Wear appropriate footwear.

Once in a lifetime experience!! Fell asleep listening to the waves and an owl. Took the canoe to get some oysters and got to se the seals up close. BRING RUBBER BOOTS! Im stubborn and didn’t I think I needed them. My shoes felt like suction cups in slippery mud.

Proximity to Taylor Shellfish, beautiful sunsets, and quiet privacy right on the shore all made Chuckanut Rock a perfect place to spend a weekend

Beautiful!
Beautiful campsite & Tony was great guiding us there & set up! Was good for a family getaway and is in a great location! Only thing is to make sure of is to have the right footwear for the hike in! It can get quite muddy and there are a lot of rocks so my hiking sandals did not do so great - definitely would recommend sneakers or boots!

The magic of Chuckanut!
My girlfriends and I had the most magical couple days at Chuckanut! Tony was very helpful and friendly! The campsite had chairs, tables, and some cooking equipment we used. Beautiful sunsets and the water was even warm enough to swim!

Wonderful little oasis
Great little spot. Incredibly private. Fun to hear/watch various freight trains pass in the distance. We put our air mattress directly on the ground and slept without a tent. Dogs loved it. We left a blow up floaty ring for the water when tide is high. Warm water due to shallows. Tie the tube with the ample rope lying around bc the current will want to drag you south. Tony was so kind as to walk us in with a backpack full of wood. Fun trek. 10/10
