Each living space is in its own secluded spot far away from other guests, complete with private bathroom and private outdoor wood-fired bath. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors hiking, mountain biking and water sports or head underground with Corris Mine Explorers and, a little further north, the intriguing King Arthurs Labyrinth (01654 761584). Or visit the Centre for Alternative Technology (01654 705950 ); the Corris Craft Centre (01654 761584) a couple of miles up the A487; the Museum of Modern Art (01654 703355) at Machynlleth or tea shops by the beach in nearby Aberdyfi.

Food and drink

The Slaters Arms is a brilliant local pub in Corris and The Wynnstay Hotel (01654 702941) at Machynlleth is a gastro pub with a great atmosphere (and good food) in the bar plus a separate pizza restaurant. Number 21 bistro (01654 703382), on the high street, is another local highlight.
