Half a mile off the road which connects Tenby and Cardigan, deep in rural West Wales, is where you’ll find Llainterfyn Camping. It’s a handy place to pitch a tent if you’re touring the area, if you want to explore the nearby Preseli Hills and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, or if you simply want to relax. There’s not much to distract you. This is a simple site with simple facilities – and great views; a pleasant spot to pitch a tent if you don’t need more than that.
If you’re a self-sufficient camper, with a tent, campervan, motorhome or caravan, you are welcome here. In fact, everyone is welcome – but it’ll be the self sufficient campers who will enjoy it here the most as there’s no shop, clubhouse or kids' club at a site like this. It’s simply a big field on a smallholding where pitches are first come, first served. There’s a little log cabin with a toilet that flushes, a shower that’s hot and a washing-up sink.
From here, you can head out on a lovely rural walk but there’s no shop or pub within easy walking distance, just a cluster of pretty, rural hamlets. The closest place to stock up on supplies, however, is not far away. The village of Crymych is just under three miles up the road and offers a pub and a leisure centre with a pool as well as the local shop. Beyond that, you’re into the Preselis and the national park. Y Frenni Fawr is a worthy summit (385 metres) to tackle nearby and there are plenty more. But perhaps it’s the sea, not the mountains, that brings you to this part of West Wales. In that case zip straight up or down that main road to Tenby, Cardigan Bay or Newport. Boat trips, dolphin spotting and fish and chips are only half an hour away.
Site is a level field set in a rural area surrounded in panoramic views of the countryside, hardstanding access, plenty of things to do and see in the area. BBQ / washing facilities, WC. Leisure centres close by as well as country parks, trekking by horse or on foot, open air markets, theme park, fishing, close to the coast.
