This land was made for glamping. On a working farm, overlooking the River Hepste, almost exactly on the southern perimeter of the Brecon Beacons National Park, it's a seriously scenic spot. And it's also near the starting point of the most beautiful walking route in Wales: The Four Waterfalls Walk. So it's no wonder people love the place.
Host, Craig, was on to a winner when he began hosting Hipcampers on his farm. It's only a small glamping site, with just two pods and a bell tent. But Craig has poured all his attention into making it a special place to stay. The pods each have a hot tub and a private deck, looking out onto the sprawling Powys countryside, while the bell tent sits in a spacious plot of grass. Each has access to its own private shower, toilet, and washing-up facilities, while creature comforts are also present—a stocked kitchen, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a Smart TV with WiFi for evenings when the weather is just a little bit too Welsh.
Part of the real joy of this Hipcamp, however, is the location. This is Waterfall Country, a beloved part of the Brecon Beacons National Park that’s home to what was once the region's most searched for walking trail. It's just a five-minute stroll from your door to Dinas Rock and the start of several great walks along the Hepste. Of all the waterfalls, Sgwd Clun-Gwyn is the one you can usually hear roaring from a distance as you approach it.
If the local sights weren’t attractive enough, Craig provides plenty of luxuries and optional extras to welcome you to Wales. The hot tub can be pre-heated before your arrival, a barbecue can be provided so you can cook with a view, and you can even book a ‘romantic package’ to surprise your loved one with rose petals, fancy chocolates, and a chilled bottle of Prosecco.
