Old-school camping in an excellent location near the Llandudno seaside and Great Orme

Get it while it's hot (quite literally) — OPEN EXCLUSIVELY FROM THE 31st JULY to the 27th of AUGUST, 2024. Typically a working smallholding used for grazing sheep, this spacious 80-pitch site is set across six acres of countryside, conveniently located within two miles of Llandudno along with the towns of Conwy and Deganwy. It's a tents-only pop-up site, with its south-facing fields promising a tan when the sun's out, and conveniently positioned a short drive or brisk walk away from Wales's largest seaside resort.

This is off-grid, back-to-basics camping with an old-school approach, with it reverting back to nature once guests have exited its fields. But in its limited window of availability, there will be spacious pitches for campers on a budget, measuring in at a generous 10-metres square, providing plenty of room for families and even your four-legged friends. There's a lot of space to walk your dogs off the lead here, as long as you're accompanying them given the farm's nearby livestock of sheep and chickens. And while it may be off-grid, there are still portaloos and showers for your amenities, including a couple providing hot water, while guests can also enjoy a drink at the on-site bar or a bite to eat at its cafe, serving up breakfast and barista coffee in the morning and pizza in the evening. And after a long day you can kick back around a camp fire, with firepits and wood available on site.

But it's all about the location of Camp Llandudno. Its namesake, the coastal town of Llandudno, is called "the Queen of the Welsh Watering Places" for a reason, with this regal moniker emblematic of its timelessness. Home to the mini-mountain that is the Great Orme headland — this famous chunk of limestone rising over 200 metres right out of the sea — the resort is accessible in a little over a 30-minute walk from the site. Its Victorian pier stretches out impressively into the Irish sea, while a wide promenade of pastel-coloured hotels, pubs and restaurants serves as its backdrop. It's not difficult to see why this promenade's two-mile stretch is one of TripAdvisor's highest-rated coastal walks in the UK.

The camping fields are very spacious and cover cover approximately 6 acres. Pitches are a generous 10 meter square. We love dogs and welcome well behaved fury friends and owners. There is plenty of space to walk them off lead so long as they are accompanied at all times by owners. Please note that we do have livestock at the farm including sheep and chickens. Whilst these will be kept away from the camping area, they will still be visible so dogs much be kept on leads at all times if not accompanied. We are very much a back to basics campsite. Open fires in fire pits strictly of the ground are permitted. Fire pits are available for hire and fire wood is for sale, both can be delivered to your pitch. There are several drinking water standpipes located around the site. Toilet facilities are by way of portable toilets. There is an elsan discharge point available if you have your own camping toilet.  For 2023, we’ll be offering 4 hot showers and 4 cold showers and 15 porta loos. We will also be introducing 2 big wash-up stations plus a breakfast wagon with hot sausage/bacon/egg and vegetarian baps and quality barista coffee!

Camp Llandudno offers a welcoming atmosphere with well-maintained facilities, making it a fantastic spot for families and dog lovers alike. Visitors rave about the freshly cooked pizzas and the convenience of having a bar on-site. The staff are described as friendly and attentive, ensuring a clean and spacious environment. Well located and maintained.

A simple site well located for many beautiful parts of Wales and the nearby town of Llandudno. Me and the dog loved the West Shore where dogs are allowed all year and away from the crowds. The site itself is well maintained. Very family orientated. There is a bar and pizzas available. Kids seemed to be having fun with pots of paint and pizza boxes! I had a nice hot shower (included) which was appreciated after camping in the wilderness for a few nights. Lovely welcome on checking in.

Perfect little site for campers… gutted it’s not open for September but looking forward to booking and bringing my family next year. Big thumbs up for pizza and coffee!! Nice big spaces! Toilets kept in good condition with loo roll. Didn’t get a chance to hire the log burners as out and about but looking forward to the option next time.

Fantastic spot to enjoy the glorious Welsh scenery. Great pizzas freshly cooked on sight. Good portaloos, although given the volume of tents, a bit under pressure. Very friendly team. Conscientious and obliging. Good to see kids running around enjoying themselves away from devices! Coffee and bacon rolls available in the morning. Enough space to stretch out. Generally flat pitches. Great.

We are a pop up, tent and camper-van only camp site OPEN EXCLUSIVELY FROM THE 31st JULY to the 27th of AUGUST, 2024. We are located in picturesque rural surrounds, yet are in a super convenient location, within 2 miles of the popular North Wales tourist towns of Llandudno, Conwy and Deganwy. We enjoy fantastic, easily accessible facilities and attractions very close by, which can make camping a lot easier than site in more out of the way rural areas! Llandudno, Conwy and Deganwy offer restaurants, pubs and entertainment to suit all tastes and budgets. We have fantastic walks on the door step. A Coop and a pub just up the road. Bus stops at the entrance to the site. We are spoiled for choice for beaches, which if your feeling energetic, are within a 30 min walk. Camp Llandudno is located on a working small holding that is used for grazing sheep outside of camping season, as such pitches are grassy and off grid. We occupy a beautiful setting with gently undulating, sunny south facing fields from which you will enjoy stunning countryside views and particularly pretty special sunrises! The camping fields are very spacious and cover cover approximately 6 acres. Pitches are a generous 10 meter square and we are a particularly spacious site with plenty of room for family fun and ball games. We are very much a back to basics camp site. Open fires in fire pits strictly off the ground are permitted. Fire pits are available for hire and fire wood is for sale, both can be delivered to your pitch. There are several drinking water standpipes located around the site. For 2024, we’ll be offering 2 hot shower cabins, 4 cold shower cabins and 14 portaloos. We will also be introducing a wash-up station plus a breakfast wagon with hot sausage/bacon/egg and vegetarian baps and quality barista coffee! The Camp Kitchen will be doing our amazing wood fired pizzas and you will have access to the onsite bar! Your not dreaming, it's real!
Nearby attractions
As its name suggests, Camp Llandudno is close to the seaside resort of Llandudno, reachable in a five-minute drive or around a 35-minute walk. Visitors can enjoy its beach and the Grade II listed Llandudno Pier (01492 870346), the longest in Wales, with food stalls and concessions and the 'Llandudno Eye', a ferris wheel affectionately named after its London counterpart. Elsewhere, it's a 10-minute drive to Conwy Castle (0300 025 2239), a famous and well-preserved medieval fortress that lets you walk a complete circuit around its battlements.
