A lone bell tent with a hot tub and views in a pretty garden setting

Camping in the garden has gone upmarket at Aberystwyth Glamping where a single lotus bell tent is pitched in a cottage garden. It has a hot tub shaded by an apple tree, views of the Melindwr Valley, and its own little kitchen shed. By day, you’ll be charmed by sheep grazing in the surrounding fields and red kites soaring overhead. By night it’s all fairy lights, fire, and stars. It’s a secluded and peaceful glamping experience in a rural setting but it’s also not far from the centre of Cardigan Bay with seaside Aberystwyth just nine miles down the road.

The garden you’re camping in belongs to lovely host Louise. She’ll welcome you on arrival and lead you down slate steps into her secluded garden glamping site. After showing you what’s what and answering any questions, she’ll leave you to enjoy the place on your own (unless you need her). The bell tent and its outside space is quite private from the house and with only sheep for near neighbours, the place is truly peaceful. You’ve everything you need for a comfortable stay including your own kitchen shed and proper flushing loo but it’s worth noting that the shower is outdoors. For most, showering under blue skies after a soak in the hot tub is one of the many highlights of a stay.

Another will be watching those unmistakable red kites – their sheer size and the fork in the tail is the giveaway. And whether you fancy yourself as a regular birdwatcher or not, a visit to the nearby red kite feeding station at Bwlch Nant-yr-Arian Forest Centre is a spectacle worth seeing. The forest also has walking, cycling, horseriding and orienteering trails as well as a kids' play area – and there’s a cafe too. In the opposite direction, the Ceredigion coast is yet another must-see highlight of a holiday here. A drive of 20 minutes takes you to bustling Aberystwyth for a day at the seaside and all that it entails: sand between the toes, a stroll along the pier, fish, chips and ice cream.

In Goginan, you will be very close to the wonderful Devil's Bridge Waterfalls and the Bwlch Nant-yr-Arian Forest Visitor Centre and red kite feeding area. The Druid Inn, with its real ales, is only a walkable one mile away.Walkers will love this rural enclave- you can walk straight out of the garden onto mapped paths into the surrounding hills! The vibrant seaside town of Aberystwyth, with its Victorian promenade, is just seven miles away. It has two cinemas and lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Plus it has lovely beaches....sandy ones at Borth and Newquay. Other nearby attractions include:*Aberystwyth Cliff Railway*A Victorian camera obscura at the top of Constitution Hill*Vale of Rheidol steam railway*Aberystwyth Arts Centre*Parc Penglais nature reserve*Ystwyth Trail cycle path,*National Library of Wales

Secluded Glamping with Hot Tub
Glamping in style!
Even though this place is new to hipcamp, Louise has been doing this for many years and knows what she’s doing. This lovely glamping yurt was such a perfect little getaway, private garden, lovely view and proper facilities. Specially the hot tub was a great treat! Highly recommend this place!

Gwynfryn Lotus Belle is a teeny tiny garden campsite with just one beautiful glamping bell tent featuring carpet, wood burner and a real made up bed. The comfortable tent is pitched in the picturesque village of Goginan, surrounded by gorgeous views, great walks and cycle tracks. You'll sleep in private and peaceful surroundings and enjoy great views of the Melindwr valley along with your own private garden, hot tub and camp fire. You will also have a little kitchen (with electricity), a proper toilet and an outside shower. Luxury!
Nearby attractions

The Aberystwyth Glamping bell tent is pitched in the village of Goginan. It’s about nine miles from Cardigan Bay but it’s a pleasant drive of less than 20 minutes to get to the seaside fun  of Aberystwyth where there’s a choice of beaches, a seaside promenade and a pier. You can hop aboard one of the heritage trains on the Vale of Rheidol Railway for the 12-mile ride to the Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls – or do the journey in reverse by hopping aboard at Devil’s Bridge (eight miles from site) and arriving in Aberystwyth by steam train. The town is also home to a cliff railway and a ruined castle. Another option for a day at the seaside, not far from your campsite, is Borth which is 10 miles from site where there’s shingle at high tide and a long stretch of sand at low tide. New Quay is about an hour’s drive but worth it for the dolphin-spotting boat trips on offer from there. Closer to the campsite, at Bwlch Nant-yr-Arian Forest Centre, just three miles away there's walking and cycling routes among the trees and daily feeding of red kites (3pm in summer). Justa mile or so further is The Silver Mountain Experience where you can explore a former silver-lead mine.

Food and drink

There’s a friendly local pub, The Druid Inn, that serves food a walkable half a mile away. Tafarn y Maes is another option: it’s a country pub with a menu of good food less than three miles away in Capel Bangor. There’s a cafe at the Bwlch Nant-yr-Arian Forest Centre (three miles from site) too. For fish and chips by the seaside and plenty more options of places to eat and drink, head straight for Aberystwyth (nine miles). There’s also a good range of shops and supermarkets if you want to stock up on supplies so you can cook on site.
