Yurts with custom-built hot tubs and private facilities in the Carmarthenshire countryside

The ethos at Embrace the Space is neatly summed up in its name. With just three yurts in six acres there’s certainly plenty of space to embrace. There’s at least 30 metres between pitches and each yurt is a minimum of six metres across so there’s no chance of feeling cramped. But there’s one more stat that’s got us all excited about this place – and it’s a slightly more obscure one. The site is about a mile and a half from the nearest streetlight. That means you can embrace another type of space: the dark, dark skies above Carmarthenshire which are punctuated by more stars than you’re likely to have seen in a long time.

The yurts, one a traditional Mongolian design and the other two more modern European versions, each have a skylight which means you can see the night sky whilst lying in your bed. The more traditional spot for stargazing, of course, is outside. Choose from a seat around the campfire and one in the warm waters of the custom-made outdoor hot tub. Owner Steve has certainly made it easy to Embrace the Space and in addition to that tub there’s a flushing toilet, a hot-water shower and an undercover camp kitchen for every yurt. Towels and bedding are provided and an electricity supply powers a fridge in the kitchen and a TV in each yurt. The circular walls don’t let you forget that you’re glamping but the wooden floors and furniture give the feel of a holiday cottage. The European Luxury Yurts even have double glazing which together with insulated walls and a log burner, make them ideal for stays in all seasons (it’s open March-December).

You’re welcome to use all of the site’s six acres which feature play equipment for kids and a viewing platform which gives a vista across 20 miles of Carmarthenshire countryside. Those miles are the ideal place for road-cycling and walking. Within them you can visit the attractive market town of Newcastle Emlyn, six miles away, and Brechfa Forest for more walking and mountain biking too. The closest beach, at Poppit Sands, is about 19 miles away and if it’s coastline you want there’s New Quay and Newport, also on the Ceredigion coast, and Carmarthenshire’s Pendine sands a similar distance south.

Lux 7m European yurt with Hot Tub
Perfect glamping
Really cosy yurt, had absolutely everything you could possibly need. Wood provided for the fire and hot tub. Fully equipped kitchen, wi-if, tv with Netflix, cosy beds. I can only think people don’t know about this place yet as we were the only ones there! Each yurt had a really big garden area so perfect for playing games with the kids. Has a nice little park area with swings on the site too. Host was fantastic. One thing to be aware of is you have to park in the car park and walk to the yurt. It wasn’t far and Anthony helped us get our stuff to the yurt so it wasn’t much of an inconvenience BUT had I known (as we were on a camping road trip and had LOADS off stuff with us) I would have packed the car differently so I could easily take out just what we needed for our stay. If we ever travel down that way again I wouldn’t hesitate to book at embrace the space :)

Two night break away!
Just returned from spending 2 days here with family, it was absolutely beautiful, we had a lovely relaxing time, Anthony was fantastic, we had everything we needed, our own private toilet, shower and kitchen facilities and private garden area with the unique hot tub, and all wood provided, wood highly recommended to couples or family’s for something a bit different. The yurt was so well insulated and warm, loved it ❤️

Luxury European 6m Yurt
Lovely cosy yurt
Absolutely lovely space and Steven and Andrew were so welcoming, helpful and thoughtful. We had a great stay. The surrounding countryside is incredible and the privacy of the yurt was lovely and peaceful. The hottub great fun and wonderfully relaxing. The site is simple but the detached kitchen and shower unit were excellent and provided everything you need and more for a super few nights away.

Luxury European 6m Yurt
Glamping with a difference!!
What a great experience we had here. The Yurts are wonderful as are the fabulous wood fired giant outdoor baths!! Was a real highlight watching the stars from there. The hosts were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of land to walk the dog and for the kids to play. We will be back.

Luxury European 6m Yurt
One of the best places I’ve stayed.
This was one of the best places we have stayed as a family. The yurt was beautiful, spotless and finished to a very high standard. The owners had though of just about everything and we were not lacking in any equipment in the yurt or kitchen. The bathroom was very good with a fantastic hot shower. This was far better than we had been expecting and again everything was spotless and of a high standard. The owners themselves were extremely friendly and helpful and ensured we had everything we needed to ensure a good stay including a lovely welcome basket and getting our hot tub ready for us when we arrived back after a day at the beach. The site felt incredibly private and safe. There was a good play area for children and each of the 3 yurts had their own private area to use outside. Sat in the hot tub of an evening gave the most wonderful view of the stars due to total lack of light pollution. I would highly recommend the site and am sure that we will be returning soon.

Traditional 6.4m Mongolian Yurt
Will Definitely Stay Again!
Part of me doesn’t want to leave a review because it was so good I don’t want to struggle to get a booking in the future. However, that wouldn’t be fair. The site was easy to find and, for what we wanted, perfectly located. Not far from Cardigan and the coast but lovely and quiet so you could decompress from work and city life. The accommodation was spot on. Clean, comfortable and with everything you need. All in all two thumbs up. We’ll definitely stay again (as long as it’s not fully booked).

Welcome to Embrace the Space, the home of luxury yurts, traditional yurts and camping. Embrace the Space is nestled in the fantastic Welsh countryside, just 12 miles north of Carmarthen and 6 miles south of the market town of Newcastle Emlyn. This is the perfect location to enjoy the tranquility of nature whilst still being in striking distance of all the outdoor adventures and beautiful beaches that the counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion have to offer. We have always had the dream of making an exclusive retreat, tucked away in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of your usual tourist centres, but within easy reach of them if required. Embrace the Space is the perfect hideaway where you can come, connect with friends, family and loved ones and enjoy the space and nature.
Nearby attractions

Embrace the Space is six miles south of Newcastle Emlyn and 12 miles from Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales. Both are attractive market towns with plenty of independent shops and eateries and both have the remains of riverside castles. Beaches on both Carmarthenshire’s Bristol Channel, like Pendine Sands, and those on Ceredigion (Cardigan) Bay including New Quay and Poppit Sands are all about  20 miles (40 minutes’ drive). It takes about the same time to get to Brechfa Forest where there’s excellent walking and mountain biking and just a little longer to the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Food and drink

There’s an on-site honesty shop stocking a few basics and owner Steve is happy to get groceries in ready for your arrival, if you contact him in advance. The closest pub is The Lamb of Rhos, about six mile from site. Alternatively, for a meal out, Monroe's @ The Llwyndaydd Inn (01554 774420) in the village of Saron Llandysul, seven miles from site, is recommended by your hosts. There are also plenty of cafes, tea rooms and pubs to choose from in the market towns of Newcastle Emlyn, six miles away including the Bunch of Grapes pub (01559 361299) and Nahar Indian Restaurant (01239 710906).
