Treasure near the South River!
Tent
Beautiful spot on an otherwise private section of the South River. I will definitely book again! The land is level and easy to set up for tent camping. River access is easy and very Wade-able. The double track path into the site is easy for a SUV or truck. Might be a little sporty for a sedan, or vehicle with a trailer. Communication with the host was easy and responsiveness was excellent. Picnic table onsite was very helpful as was Trashcan. Stone fire pit worked well and absence of ambient light made for a beautiful night sky. There is some traffic noise from I-64, but not enough to keep you awake. I will definitely camp this site again, and highly recommend it!

Camping along the river.
Tent
We had a wonderful stay at David's camping property. It had just been mowed and was very easy to navigate. We got a spot close to an entrance for the river that we were able to walk to and had the best time fishing and caught a lot of fish! The amenities provided were a fire pit with a grill grate and rotisserie to use if needed. There was no toilet/bathroom so if you are prepared to go to the bathroom outside there shouldn't be any problems. We had a fun time, and would love to come again!

So. First time using HipCamp. Not overly impressed. The listing makes you feel like you are gonna be right on the river. But you aren’t even close enough to hear it. And getting to the river wasn’t fun as the only part of the field that had been mowed was the campsite. Getting to the river meant walking through waist high weeds/grass. One of us got stung by a wasp from the wasp nest in the gate to the property. I reached out to the host before I arrived and while I was there and only heard from him on the last day after we had left. For $100/night it just could have been better The river is AMAZING. Chilly, refreshing, nice on a hot day!

Wonderful Stay!
Tent
The site is very private, but beautiful and spacious. A lovely running river right near the site that is nice to listen to. A warm welcome from Randy (camp host) was nice to arrive to after a long day on our bikes! But you have your own complete space to relax and enjoy. Absolutely would recommend and definitely will return if ever in the area again! 10/10
