This charming farm is located between Charlottesville and Scottsville, 18 miles to the downtown pedestrian mall or UVa. Surrounded by wine and equine estates, truly a country get-away. Choose from a view of the pasture or the creek.  About the Property Welcome to our 16-acre horse paradise and camping area.  We are located close to the historic James River, which is only 5 miles away, and offers excellent swimming and tubing. We offer tube rentals as well as river drop-offs and pickups for a modest fee (available upon checkout as a Hipcamp Extra). Additionally, enjoy hiking at nearby Van Clief Nature Trails or visit Walnut Creek Park. The area offers great access to biking, kayaking, apple picking, swimming, tubing, breweries, and vineyards.  This spot is secluded and rural, yet only ~10 minutes from downtown Scottsville, Virginia.  Your Host lives on site and is happy to greet you upon arrival but will then leave you to enjoy your stay.  About the listing Pitch your tents in the open fields or near the forest in this secluded getaway.  We offer basic amenities, including access to water at the barn and an outhouse featuring a “Luggable Loo” camp toilet. There is no kitchen provided so make sure you bring all the supplies you’ll need to cook during your stay.  We do offer a fire pit and picnic table. Wood is available to purchase during your stay.  While you will have privacy at your campsite, we do offer three different Hipcamp sites, so you may run into other campers in common areas or in passing during your stay.  Additional Details to Note - No pets due to animals on site - Please do not approach horses - Limited cell reception for some carriers, so be sure to plan ahead

Awesome site & accommodating host!
Awesome 3-day stay! Our host (Jackie) was very accommodating. The site was private and just what my wife and I were looking for. Scottsville, while very small, is only 7 minutes away and the local Food Lion has anything you would likely need. Monticello is also nearby and we loved that excursion very much. We will definitely return and I highly recommend Turkey Hollow to any camper.

Nice private wooded campsite
Turkey Hollow was great! I booked on short notice after another site canceled on me the day before, and this ended up being a gem! The site is nice and private, lots of space for tents. The horses are a little overly friendly, but seem to know when you want them to leave. I only wish Duke, the resident pup, came to hang out more :)

Tent Camping with Horses
Great Site and Surrounding Area
Check in was smooth and the owner was very nice. Showed us to the site and answered any questions we had. Close proximity to town and to lakes to go hiking and fishing. I greatly enjoyed my stay and definitely recommend this site.

Tent Camping with Horses
The hosts were wonderful and the private and secluded camp sites were perfect for what we were looking for. You quite literally camp with horses that roam about and it was a huge hit with my kids. Highly recommend.

Tent Camping with Horses
I loved camping here! It’s a gorgeous location with wide open space. Having the horses come right up to us was such a treat for my family. So much fun! Very convenient to have an outdoor toilet with the kids, too.
