Lazy River Farm has so much to offer. Tents sites are in a wooded setting, on a beautiful hill, spread out for privacy. Camp sites also have fire rings with wood available for you to use. Campers are welcome to use any wood that's on the ground near or around your site. Camp sites can be accessed with a 4 wheel drive vehicle or walk up the hill to your site. With easy access down to the river, you can cool off in the beautiful Cow Pasture River.
Glamping in the Vardo Wagon is another option, with its close proximity to the river and cozy interior. The Gypsy Rose sleeps 2, but can sleep 2 additional guests with a tent.
Rent kayaks or paddle boards if you want to go on beautiful floats that wont disappoint you, paddle boards and kayaks are available for free if you paddle near the farm. (Life jackets not provided but are required) drop in a line to fish, or simply sit by the river and listen to the soft rapids.
Lazy River Farm is a working farm, with lovely Scottish Highland Cattle, pigs, chickens, horses and livestock guardian dogs.. Your welcome to come and pet the animals. Do not feed animals. Do not go into fields or stalls with any of them.
Nearby there are vineyards and breweries, the beautiful historic Masonic Theater, C&O heritage center, miles of back roads to explore, as well as local restaurants. Contact us directly for a full range of what we have to offer, or have questions regarding any site.
Caroline’s property is huge and gorgeous. I was worried if my Prius would make her driveway to the farm but it was a little uphill gravel road I made it fine and was greeted by this cutest highland Scottish cow!
We had such a great weekend at Lazy River Farm. The site was private and quiet. Just what we needed. We spent the day at the river watching fish, turtles and crawfish and finished the day by the campfire. Strongly recommend for folks looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. *We did use our four wheel drive to get up to the campsite.
Had a great time camping at Lazy River farm with my family. We stayed two nights and spent most of our time down at the river kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Definitely recommend it and the kids are asking when we can come back.
We stayed in the wagon and our teenaged kids tented outside. The wagon site had everything we needed - fire pit, wood, potable water, outhouse. The wagon itself is fantastic and is well stocked with everything you need - the bed is a bit short, so if you are very tall be advised. Wagon is close to the river and it is a beautiful area. Farm animals are fun to watch as well! Had a great experience.
Just wasn’t what we expected it to be. No disrespect meant in a negative review. Just not kid friendly with barb wire every where. Not kid friendly with access to river from camp site. It’s not a river camp site, I don’t really think the description of what you get matches what is pictured or described. Really should mention the barb wire cage around the entire site. Really should make it more clear this site is not on a river but more so near one that requires a serious walk that is not ideal for anyone not able to hike, not walk but hike. Again the host is a very nice personable nice host, just want to describe the site better.
We went camping for two nights and stayed at campsite 2. My friends and I had an amazing time. If you want to get away from the crowded campgrounds this is the spot. We definitely plan on coming back. The river was crystal clear and the views were unreal. Thank you again!
