150 acres of river flats with beautiful big gums, lagoons and 1km length of ovens river frontage. A beautiful grassy, shaded area with stunning views, privacy and seclusion. The site has a lovely sweeping bend that has water that's suitable for families to swim in with some shallow water for littlies to paddle in. There is also some lovely sand for the kids to play in. Locally you are in the middle of the two famous valleys which offer some amazing gourmet experiences. You are within minutes from the King valley or the ovens Valley. And 50mins from Bright with all the beautiful towns and attractions on the way. You're spoilt for choice in this location for wineries, restaurants, berry farms. Famous town of Beechworth is only 30mins. Ideal location if you feel like leaving the magic camp ground that will provide you with a real sense of peace and relaxation with not a building in sight. Will be back!!!

Hipcamp Review for Willowood Camp Site #3 Our stay at Willowood Camp Site #3 was wonderful, even though it was cut short by a night due to the weather. Despite the drizzle during our 24 hours there, we had a fantastic time! The site itself is large, open, and perfect for group camping. There was plenty of space for our few families to spread out comfortably. The kids especially loved the freedom to explore and enjoy the river—it felt safe and allowed them to be wild and adventurous without any concerns. Sally was fantastic to communicate with, both before and during our stay. She was incredibly responsive, making the planning and stay easy and stress-free. We’re already looking forward to coming back for a full trip next time! Highly recommend Willowood for families and groups looking for a spacious, fun, and safe camping experience.

Magnificent riverside camp

What an unbelievable property, with the Ovens River right at your doorstep. Fantastic location with so much to do in the area. Perfect campsite. Level, grassed, shaded, huge, direct access to the beautiful flowing river.... Thank goodness as it was damn hot. Site 1 was ours, and massive, and private & distanced from other campers who were mutually respectful & quiet. We did run a generator one afternoon with air con & a movie as it was so hot.... Cheeky I know ! Sally visited to check all was well which was appreciated. The site was peaceful with only sounds of nature. Thanks to Sally for giving us access to their slice of heaven. Absolutely no regrets in booking this Hipcamp 👌

Campsite 2

The place was great, right on the riverbank. We sat our chairs in the water and dipped our legs in on the hot summer arvo. The firepit was nice and large and there was plenty of firewood provided. There was enough space between the other campsites. They could be seen, but not heard. Will definitely we coming back.

Absolutely amazing property, the river is beautiful to swim in, cheap firewood, great access can’t find any negative at all we will definitely be coming back here the kids loved every moment

Campsite 3

Fabulous location

Great little spot right on Ovens River. Large sites and generously spaced between the three sites. We stayed on site 3 and as quite warm we had daily visits from some unwanted guests who brought the entire fly population with them. But to be fair, we were occupying their waterhole. You can hear some road noise from Snow Rd but mainly during the day but peaceful at night. We saw trout in the river and even found a tortoise who needed some help to get back to the water. Overall a lovely 5 night stay and recommend this hipcamp.
