Located near Ogden Valley is a quiet, peaceful, and secluded ridge camp spot overlooking incredible mountain views with many types of wildlife. Causey Reservoir offers year round fishing and is a popular area for kayaking and paddleboarding in the summer as well as hiking. In mid-September kokanee salmon spawn turning an amazing color of red. South Fork River is also popular for fly fishing. Pineview reservior is also a popular destination for boating in the summer.Pitch a tent or small camper where you can wake up and soak in the spectacular mountain views. In the evening at sunset the dragon flies dance around while you enjoy the glow of a campfire (fire restrictions may be enforced pending county guidelines, or propane fire pit can be provided for an extra small fee). Hiking, ATVs and horsetrails on marked dirt roads is allowed. A shaded hitching rail for horses is avalaible as well. No shooting firearms per county restrictions. Last minute reservations should be confimed via text. Phone service is limited and directions are confusing, especially in the dark.

Ridge top getaway
Tent
Beautiful spot up on the mountain ridge. Very convenient location to Causey Reservoir. Hosts were very gracious and hospitable. Just a heads up if you’re riding solo, you’ll will need a capable vehicle and some courage to park at the site. Great getaway to escape the smoggy city!

Up on the ridge

It was a very nice place to spend a couple of nights. It is about 15 minutes from Causey Reservoir and 35 minutes from Pineview. It is quite remote compared to your normal national forest campgrounds, but that is what made it enjoyable. Make sure you have downloaded a map of the area and the waypoint (Google maps or GAIA) if you have AT&T, the reception is quite limited.

This was our first time using Hipcamp and unfortunately, we spent $90 on a site we couldn't enjoy. We tried to get directions to the campsite but did not receive a response from the hosts. Hopefully, they will be more responsive to future guests.

We loved Eppy & Brian’s camping spot hidden away with an amazing view of the valley. There’s a fire ring, table, stairs down to a flat camping spot perfect for a tent. It was the perfect spot! Couldn’t recommended enough!
