If traveling with your horses, pens are available along with miles of unpaved, remote, county roads to explore the varied landscapes. You can expect to encounter, both on the ranch and off, white tail, mule deer, turkey, hogs, coyotes, quail, dove, road runners and friendly locals always ready to stop and chat. We love meeting people and welcome new friends to join us doing all things ranch related, from feeding cattle and horses to improving infrastructure. Whether you're looking for souvenirs or wish to really experience the heart of Lone Mound Ranch we offer grass-fed beef by the lb, free range chicken eggs by the dozen, pastured goat milk, cheese, butter and ice cream & in season a variety of organic veggies to smother in butter for the grill! All organic and non-gmo. We also have a local soap maker that uses our goat milk to produce artisan soaps available for sale. We invite you to come as a guest and return as a friends.
Lone Mound Ranch offers a peaceful and secluded camping experience with stunning views of sunsets and sunrises, as well as a night sky filled with stars. Campers appreciate the privacy and the ease of accessing the site, with encounters with wildlife such as coyotes adding to the rustic charm. While most reviews are highly positive about the scenic beauty and tranquility, one review highlighted difficulties in locating the site and concerns about safety and communication. Overall, it's a place where campers can unwind amidst nature, with the added bonus of purchasing grass-fed beef from the ranch store.
Beautiful secluded spot under some tall trees. Heard the coyotes yipping at sunset. Pretty level spot. Table, chairs, and fire pit were all there. It was really windy so I didn’t have a fire. Lots of dirt roads for taking a walk. Great stay!
Super cute little spot! It was truly a good first night in Texas. We arrived late but still made the most out of cooking up some steaks from their store for dinner. We would have loved doing some more exploring but our journey carried us on! We will remember this place for sure!
The little rustic cabin we stayed in was super cute! We arrived late in the night and had no issues finding it in the dark. Huge plus we were able to have a campfire! The sky was filled with stars which made the night even more magical. Woke up to ice outside and saw the beautiful view for the first time. Our dog liked sniffing around the barn and the hay stacks.
A very quiet place, suggest to access before dark; we stay at Christmas Eve and took some time to get there. The owner is patient and very kind, it’s special experience to us.
Lana and Chancie were great host, They checked on us to make sure we were comfortable and to see if we needed anything!! The property was amazing-wide open! Thank you for sharing a campfire with us!!
Get there when there is plenty of light left in the day. I messed up and it was dark when I arrived. Any problems that arose were dealt with well by the owner of the property. Outstanding property by the way.
