A small farm in the beautiful Central Highlands of Tasmania, near the best fishing spots in the country. We are on the Lyell Highway, halfway between the west coast and Hobart. Come and stay for a day or two. Enjoy clean air, wildlife and our farm animals. Help feed them if you like. Enjoy the quiet life in Tasmania. Go for day drives and be back at night. Launceston is only just over 2 hours drive. Or just sit under the trees and let life pass you by. We came here and never left. Dog friendly but dogs must be kept under control. Campers need their own amenities as there is no toilet or shower. Closest public toilets are at Wayatinah Village, about 10 kms away, where there is also a pub where you can get meals at night and a general store/post office/fuel outlet that is open for a couple of hours each day.

Paul was very helpful. Bought sourdough and duck eggs. Good resting stop between Strahan and Hobart. Need to be fully self contained. We took our dogs but needed to keep them on lead as there were animals on the property. Checked out the Highland cows and alpacas.

We loved our stay at Ravens Nest, Paul was a wonderful host, the bread and eggs we bought were great. We loved our night away, it was peaceful and away from suburbia to enjoy some downtime and we loved meeting the animals. Would recommend.

Camping off grid & loving it!

Thank you Lyn and Paul for letting us stay on your property. We had a mix up upon arrival and had to wait to enter the property as the gate was locked. Be prepared for total grid lock, no reception for mobile phones, TV or internet. We purchased a loaf of sour dough bread, still warm, so fresh and delivered to our van by Paul. We went to Tarraleah, Brady’s Lake and Waddamana. Heaps of places to visit and lots to do. Our dogs (Labradors) loved the property, it was a quick getaway as we are from Hobart.

Great spot to spend the night with Paul & Lyn being the perfect hosts. Paul baked us sourdough and delivered it to our van in the morning, it was still warm. He also brought us fresh farm eggs and a jar of his honey. We met Rex the Maremma and the two Highland cows.
