Fairmead Farm has been a working farm since the 1700s. Native Americans and early European settlers rest on these grounds. The relics of their pasts are here to remind us that this land afforded tranquil and simple living. A trail to the corn liquor still site suggests they had a lively business. In the early 1900s, residents corralled their hogs in a small cave to protect their animals from the elements. Our family has been a part of the Appalachian Carolinas, and we have a long history of farming and forestry since the Irish immigration. We have 3 listings, a cabin, and 2 camp sites to chose from. While the camps sites are pet friendly, the cabin is not - so please book accordingly. All of our accommodations have access to toilets, potable water, showers, and wifi. Other amenities vary by site - so be sure to read over each before booking. The first thing you'll notice when you step out of your car, is the solitude enhanced by a mountain ridge nearly all the way around the property. You can enjoy exposed rock boulders on our slopes. Access to public hiking trails on the ridge. From the ridge, you can almost touch Table Rock Mountain (State Park), Sassafras Mountain, Whiteside Mountain (Cashiers, NC) and beyond. Our farm residence (circa early 1900s) fades into the panorama tranquility will not intrude upon your camping sites. Enjoy our full-service bathroom with running water. Grocery store and hardware store just 10 minutes away is hard to believe.

Cabin in the Deep Woods

Fantastic cabin and wonderful property with plenty of privacy. It was cold outside but the cabin was cozy and warm. The outhouse was chilly but had hot water and was comfortable. We stayed for a Clemson game and it was an easy trip to the stadium. Nearby Pickens is a nice little town with food, cafes, and some antique stores.

Great spot

Brian has a great spot for camping. He is very accommodating and helpful. He met us the first night we arrived and showed us where everything was in the best place to put our overland or trailer. We invited them down in the evening to hang with us by the fire and he joined us for about an hour each night. It was a very fun trip. We shall return

The campsite was great! I had a little fire pit, picnic table, and great tent patch. Brian was kind enough to provide firewood as well. The bathroom was super clean and the hot shower felt amazing after a long day of hiking. Sam the doggo provided great companionship and the night was calm quite.

Great place!

Brain was cordial and knowledgeable, with a lovely property! Our campsite was nice- quiet (a few wildlife noises 🦉) and scenic. It was a short hike to the bathroom, so you may want to bring a bucket/camp toilet. Sam the dog was very friendly and played well with our male puppy. Would definitely stay again.
