Relaxing family friendly camping in beautiful Woopen Creek with picturesque views of Queensland's highest mountain Mt Bartle Frere. Our campsites offer plenty of room to run and play, fresh water swimming, perfect for bird watching, and a cosy fireplace to relax around in the evening. You will be camping on a working Vanilla Bean farm so there is an opportunity to learn more about how vanilla grows. We have two sites, one to accommodate larger caravans and RV's, and the second camping area is best suited to camper trailers and tents. Drinking water on tap and a private shelter to place your portable toilet or to hang your camp shower. You will be within a short drive to popular tourist destinations including Josephine Falls, Babinda Boulders, Brampston Beach and Innisfail for shopping. Visit the famous Babinda Bakery for fresh bread, pies and cakes. If you're into bush walking, Mt Bartle Frere has walking tracks to Broken Nose or for the more experienced walker, to the Summit for breathtaking views.

Camping by the Creek

A Piece of Paradise!

Highly recommend this stay! Ray and Patricia were very accomodating when we made a booking last minute. Ray went above and beyond during our stay showing us to our campsite late, giving us recommendations about the area and showing us around their incredible vanilla farm in the morning. We stayed in many campsites during our Queensland road trip - this was by far our favourite. The area is peaceful and serene on the foot of the mountains and rainforest. We had the whole camp area to ourselves which is very private but large enough for groups. The property has a lovely creek through it which is beautiful for a morning or evening swim! Ray also has a lovely campfire next to the creek for those who want to use. Highly recommend for any couples, friends or families, Ray’s properties has something for everyone!

Travelers rest

We Met Ray, was A great fella showed us around his vanilla bean farm and explained the process (very interesting) great spot to camp we stayed at the traveler's rest which is 1 of 2 camping spots located closer to the road ,, If I was to recommend get the spot closer to the river but ray sorted some firewood and was super accomodating , over all had a great stay would come back again for the river spot not travelers rest !

Beautiful, easy & relaxing

An absolutely beautiful spot! It was very relaxing sitting by the creek & watching the wild life. Ray was very welcoming & keeps the property immaculate. The extra touches like the structure to put your porter potty & shower in, fire pits & chairs over looking the creek, access to fresh water etc make this such an easy place to spend a few days camping & show how much thought Ray has put into the set up to make you feel at home! Thanks Ray for sharing your stunning property.

The hosts were lovely and so helpful and the place is so clean and well kept. Lovely by the river which is beautiful, clean and great for a swim. Fantastic big area and so peaceful.

Beautiful, private oasis!

We loved our stay at Woopen Creek Vanilla. The camping area was lush and private. The creek was beautiful too! It was like our own little oasis. We will back again soon.
