Just minutes from Prairie City, 40 acres of off grid living provides for the best valley views with the Strawberry Mountain Range as a picturesque back drop. If you are just passing through eastern Oregon, or making it a destination, the view will not disappoint. Wildlife and critters abound day and night. Turkeys and coyotes often heard at dusk, taking you into nights dark skies for some of the best stargazing around. There is an outhouse just a short walk from the cabins for toilet. No running water or showers on site. Endless miles of public lands begin within 2 miles. Magone Lake is nearby for fishing, swimming, paddle boarding and biking trails. Located within the Northside hunting unit. Excellent hiking opportunities within the Strawberry Wilderness. Visit the BLM office in Prairie City for all your maps and forestry information.

Strawberry views forever

Offgrid Glamping Double Twin Cabin

Amazing views, centrally located to many outdoor activities. Host were very warm and available should have needed anything. Cozy cabins (comfortable beds) with plenty of space and cooking amenities for overnight stays, food nearby as well. Nice firepit and outdoor area to soak in the views and relax. Even the outhouse had an amazing view! I would highly recommend a two-day stay because there's so much to see in the John Day area, which is so close in terms of driving.

Offgrid Glamping Double Twin Cabin

Amazing glamping experience! The cabin is remote, yet there is a town close with gas and a grocery store if you need anything. Elisha and Josh were amazing hosts who are knowledgeable about the area, stocked the cabin with the essentials, and are super responsive to questions or needs. Highly recommend this Hipcamp lodging!

A Magical Experience!!!

Offgrid Glamping Queen Cabin

I am so glad I stumbled upon Elisha’s beautiful cabins! If you’re traveling from Idaho to Oregon or vice versa, consider adding this to your itinerary! Magical views of the Strawbarry mountain range and remote enough to feel like you’re in your own little world. That was enough for me- but the cabin was a plus. I will definitely be coming back again! Such kind and responsive hosts!
