Sounds of Nature on a peaceful dock

An updated site description would have better prepared me for the stay. It was a nice little site with the other site far enough away that you wouldn't of heard them but could still be a group and reach each other easily. The grass was a little long and could have been cut before arrival. The turn off for the site is hidden but Google maps is bang on to the turn so if you miss it you can easily turn around and find it again.

not the way I expecting

The site is very basic. Toilet is not proper to be use. Too many mosquitos ( it is bush area beside the pond) .Lisa is available by call, but no greetings or explanation or tour around the site.

Cute little spot! Very close to the city which is awesome! Went very early in the year. The frogs and coyotes at night were super active! All in all would definitely go back! Not to sure how the spot would be in regards to bugs because of the time of year but may be a bother farther into summer.

Beautiful fall camping site!

Lovely peaceful site. Went to a concert at Neat Cafe only 3 minutes away. Enjoyed the ducks and other wildlife on the pond. Outhouse was great. Definitely take the host up on breakfast at Ottawa Valley Coffee in Renfrew; it capped off a great trip.

This spot was really cute! We enjoyed our stay here despite a few obstacles that we faced. Overall it was cute, the fire pit was great and there was no one on the other site so we had complete privacy for the whole weekend! There were two addresses on the add which was confusing but we called Lisa and she sorted it out for us. This is a Hipcamp issue, it’s happened to us 3 times with Hipcamp. The add mentioned there would be fire wood for use, when we arrived there was not, and there was none close by so we went to town to get some. The outhouse was quite full nearing the top, bring your own toilet paper to be safe! The view was incredible! But I would say the water is not swimmable. We are adventurous but it’s solid seaweed and pond / swamp like so we went to the burnstown beach which is beautiful and worth while. Please be careful on the dock, it’s older wood and dry, I unfortunately went through a piece of it when trying to enjoy the view on it. Just my luck though as my husband walked on it a bunch and didn’t find the weak spot that I did. I notified Lisa and she said she’d get it fixed up so it should be good now! The last item to note is this location is nice and private but the outhouse is shared with another site. The only downside is it’s off a main road and we found it quite loud for tent camping, in a trailer your likely fine! This spot was absolutely worth the getaway, just important that you come prepared as we did (except bringing wood)

Private and cozy

We camped here with a 16-ft camper and really liked the site. Chars camp is a little tight to get into with a camper but once you're settled it's a nice spot. If you drive in you have to back out. There's a little turn around before you commit so maybe walk in first. The site is level and has a nice big fire pit. The water is nice to be so close to but we weren't adventurous enough to swim. The dock platform was perfect to hang out on. Pretty close to the highway which brings in some road noise but you get used to it. Outhouse was an outhouse lol, bring a light. 8 out of 10 for me.
