We purchased this 18 acre property in 2002. It is a small farm with an 1859 bank barn. We alternate raising pigs and cows for our consumption. We also raise rabbits, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, pheasants and goats. 4 barn cats and our beloved Louie (dog) also live here. We put in a spring-fed pond and stocked it. (Fishing welcome) We replaced the large open lawn areas with naturalized growth and mowed pathways for access. We plant and encourage beneficial trees, flowers, bamboo and shrubs. There is a small apiary on the property. We are located 5 minutes from Gambier and Mt.Vernon. We are 3 minutes from Wolf Run Park which offers nice hiking and a fenced-in dog park. We are 1 hour from Columbus, 2 hours from Cleveland and 30 minutes from Mohican State Park and Snow Trails ski resort. Multiple river access sites and canoe liveries are nearby. It is a quiet area with a few decent restaurants and taverns.
