So this cabin is definitely not for everybody, but it was perfect for my friend and I. We even talked about potentially coming back with more friends :)

Not what it claims
Let me start with I don't give bad reviews BUT .... This one takes the cake. The location and property is in a beautiful setting. The cabin and grounds are and have been neglected. I had to clean the place from the past visitors trash floors filthy ,mouse crap in every drawer and corner says place has not been cleaned.....like ever by owner. I went over and above to make it bareable for my week stay. There's is NO WATER supplied the well is actually toxic water and you have to ask to get access from owners home. It will not be supplied by owner. The solar power is not functioning properly. It's a shame because there's a lot of potential for the place. It's not worth the price ,and the price is low BUT SO ARE THE STANDARDS. Dirt is one thing but health hazards are quite another. Take with grain of salt the statement " working on improvement".

Secluded location
I loved the privacy. And the peaceful time away from the rest of the world. Just imagine camping with a shelter and lights. Comfy bed . Did not mind bringing bed linens. Ground is soft walking to the pond, but other than a few repairs that seem to be going on . However it was wonderful spot for us and our Swiss mountain dog companion. Keep in mind to bring your cooking stuff and there is no access to water at this time. But if your used to primitive camping you should prepare for this anyway

Heaven!
My husband and I spent our anniversary at this secluded little spot of heaven on earth and it was better than any hotel any day for us! As long as you don't mind roughing it a bit and no/very little signal. (We listened to fm radio while in the cabin) I went fishing for the first time in his peaceful pond (turns out I'm a natural ☺️) and at night the stars were so close I felt like I could reach them as I sat on the property in bliss with my husband. It was an incredible weekend for us and will forever be etched in our memories. Thank you so much Willard!!!

It’s quaint and a pretty piece of property. I believe he is in the middle of making some upgrades, so I look forward to seeing those.

Happy weekend at Hootin' Hollow
We really enjoyed our off the grid stay at this rustic cabin. Willard was extremely responsive and helpful with any issues or questions we had, what a great host! Things to be aware of: bring pillows and bedding for the comfortable bed. We brought jugs of water just as he recommended. There is a small amount of electricity - enough to run a lamp (provided) and probably charge a phone. You can cook on top of the woodstove or there's a small hibachi style charcoal grill - but don't forget your pots/pans and utensils (the host was nice enough to leave a few bottles of water and some disposable cups and plates). There seemed plenty of fire wood, but we had brought our own. The commode had a small learning curve, but was very convenient. Didn't have the opportunity to fish the pond, but would love to next time! Willard is definitely in the process of updating the property (its not perfect, don't expect the Hilton - that's not what you're paying for), I'm sure there are some beautiful improvements to come. You can't improve on the beatiful surroundings though! I know another reviewer said they would like more lights outside - but we found the view of the starry night sky to be breathtaking. All in all, it was a great value: like camping with 4 walls and upgrades!
