The private cabin sits on the edge of a gorgeous meadow surrounded by forest and easily accessible trails. This tranquil cabin is the perfect place to unwind, relax and tune in. The space This post and beam cabin has no electricity or running water. Which makes it peaceful and special. Truly off grid. The cabin has: -a newly built composting outhouse 30 feet from the cabin. -a queen bed with cozy linens, four pillows, and xtra blankets -several battery run hurricane lanterns. -an easy to use two burner butane stove -a camping shower bag that hangs outside behind the back of the cabin (with the trees it’s very private) -a 3 gallon drinking water canister that will be filled for your arrival and xtra gallons of tap water below sink for dishwashing. - a desk - a table -a large cooler - a sink, cutting boards, knives, -pots, pans, utensils, dishes, cups and glasses. -Coffee, Teas, French Press, Pour over, #2 filters, sugar, salt, pepper, spices, olive oil, and hot sauce. Fire Pit (some wood is available) and bringing firewood bundles is recommended for longer stays This rural neighborhood has more than a few wonders. A welcomed addition to the neighborhood is Stone Bend Farm, less than a mile from the cabin. Stone bend Farm provides farm to table wood fired pizza , salads, roasted, local craft beer on tap and local ciders and wines. They are open Fri- Sundays. On Friday’s you might find live music in the form of a honky tonk night, Indie music, Americana, or even a community square dance. On Sundays it’s simply the best Brunch option around..there’s even a 9 am yoga class! Just below our driveway is a parking lot and a trail head for the Bock/Harvey Forest Preserve. Those are the trails just beyond the meadow. You might see birders, hikers, and the occasional fox and deer walking along the tree line. The trail heading up the field leads to a locust Leanto and then up the the Finger Lakes Trail. This is a newly renovated post and beam cabin that sits on the edge of a gorgeous meadow surrounded by forest (all land trust forest preserve) and easily accessible trails. Cabin in a Meadow
Magical property! Great amenities!
This property is truly magical! Where do I begin? Arriving was easy and her instructions were clear. You park a tiny bit away from the cabin but it is only about a 30 second walk and was fine for brining all our things in. The cabin, it is so quaint and beautiful, set on a picturesque meadow. There is beautiful art on the walls, so many windows, so you feel like you’re outside! The cabin has no electric or running water but I barely noticed, as she provides lanterns, there is a big sink with a water jug for drinking water and plenty of well water under the sink for washing dishes. There are plates, and all the utensils/pots/seasoning you need for cooking, and a 2 burner stove, which was very easy to use. There are games, books, she even put some in the outhouse which I loved! The outhouse was great and the woodshavings prevented any odor. At night the entire field twinkles with the most lightning bugs I’ve ever seen. It was so beautiful and felt like a spiritual experience. The wildlife was all enchanting. You could hear frogs singing and little deer and cats scurrying in the field. The campfire was relaxing and easy to make with provided firestarters and wood. The shower was great after we went to the waterfall the host suggested we swim in. It was enough water to clean 2 people thoroughly. I really valued the privacy, that you would not get at a typical camp ground. All and all I would say, if you are looking for a cozy “glamping” experience, this is your place!

Great Cabin in a Perfect Setting
We could not be happier with our visit to the Cabin in the Meadow. The location is not only easy to get to, but the setting is absolutely marvelous. We arrived late on our first night, Jennie was kind enough to leave the lanterns on to help guide our way, and the meadow was filled with thousands of lightening bugs to welcome us. The Cabin is wonderful. It was everything we needed for a weekend away. With plenty of kitchen items, a comfortable bed, and plenty of space, and incredibly clean and tidy it made for the perfect base camp for a weekend of hiking. The location can not be beat. This cabin is minutes from Lucifer Falls, a short drive to Watkins Glen, and countless other hiking trails. We found this to be the perfect location to enjoy all of the wonderful outdoor adventure spots the region has to offer. Last but not least! Jennie is a fantastic Camp Host. She responded quickly to all of our questions and provided a delightful weekend location for us.
