Harpy Hollow is located on 89 beautiful wooded acres near Watkins Glen, NY.  Come unplug and enjoy an abundance of wildlife, on-site trails and stargazing. We are located in the Finger Lakes Region with all the wine you can taste! While here you should visit all the waterfall trails you can! The Watkins Glen Gorge Trail is our favorite! The Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) is walking distance from "The Hollow" and so is a natural spring. There are horseback riding and ATV trails in the area. Bring or rent a kayak to paddle any of the several large nearby lakes! Plenty of fishing in the area too! There is a modern outhouse with flushing toilet and sink with running water a reasonable walking distance from each site. A private potty in a potty tent on your site is available to rent. Sorry, no shower yet! Every site has a fire ring and comes with first bundle of wood. Additional bundles are available on site for purchase. Owned by Army Veterans who love the outdoors and live on site in an off grid cabin. If you are looking for a place to unplug, this is the place for you!  Learn more about this land: Beautiful site that is spacious, wooded and quite with no light pollution for amazing stargazing! Includes firepit.  Bathroom is a short walk from the site.  You may park at site (all wheel or 4 wheel drive necessary under some conditions). May need to walk in if very wet or snowy.  Beautiful private site nestled half way up a hill on a large level plateau. It's a beautiful spot to start your day! There is a large metal firepit and custom log seating. Choose any number of shade tree spots for relaxing in a hammock. The site includes a portable camping toilet. The hike in is a moderate .25 mile with some elevation gain. It is not far, but it could be considered difficult for an unseasoned hiker. Absolutely NO BONFIRES allowed. There is a firepit for reasonable size fires that must be attended at all times. Please put out fully before leaving the site. We will provide a couple gallons of water at the site to help lighten your load hiking up. Bring your gear and enjoy the view!

Absolutely loved our weekend at Harpy Hollow! My 2 teen sons and I had a blast. Danielle and Denise are terrific! So kind and opening. While we didn't need anything, I know if we did they would of provided it. Their hospitality is 10/10. We stayed at Sunrise Vista 2.. which did require a STEEP walk up. But we were prepared for that. The site was private, tucked I'm the mountain trees, and everything we wanted. Would absolutely be back.

Great experience!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend since we wanted to visit Watkins Glen! We had a great time at this campsite! Danielle was an amazing host. You can tell she pays a lot of attention to details. The camping toilet and firewood are nice touches that help minimize trips back to the car while unpacking! The views were also amazing! We would definitely recommend staying here!

PACK LIGHT AND ENJOY!
Tent
Situated nearby an easily accessible section of the Finger Lakes Trail, Harpy Hollow is a secluded oasis and the place to be! This is the second time I've been to Harpy Hollow! Danielle is an incredibly gracious host. She saw that I packed too heavy for the trip and generously offered to shuttle my gear up to our campsite. That being said, PACK LIGHT! The hike up to SV1 is short, but man is it steep. It's very doable if you're in moderate shape, it just may take you a few mins. Although a huge help, we will definitely pack lighter next time so that we can take our gear up and back ourselves and save Danielle the trip on her quad. She's got an incredible property, and I wouldn't want to etch into her time to work. I really appreciated having a portable toilet at the top in a well enclosed outhouse at the site. While not necessary, it was a welcome luxury not having to dig cat holes. We came during a thunderstorm and the Vista however cloudy, did not disappoint. The mist and fog settle in the valley beneath the site and you could spend hours just watching the clouds roll through. Stunning. Make sure to check beneath your car before leaving anytime. There are sweet camp kitties that may bask nearby or underneath your vehicle. Danielle is a wealth of knowledge, deeply compassionate, and embodies the spirit of nature itself! This is a special place. There are campsites for everyone experience level, plenty of amenities, and fabulous company!

We had a great stay at Sunrise Vista 2. Danielle was very accommodating and took extra steps to make the sure we had what needed. It's a little less than a quarter of a mile hike to the site, but it's steep. Just keep that in mind when you are packing. Once you are there, you have a plenty of space to setup a nice camp and it's completely private.
