The campsite was level and grass was short, which made it really easy to set up - and it was really close to Canberra. They've made it really easy to make your way to the campsites and locate your booked site, too. We had a visit from the host and he was also great - we loved our chat with him.
Our mixed feelings came from the set up of the sites, we were right next to a bunch of shipping containers and stored caravans with torn covers flapping in the wind which kept bringing us back to reality. There were some other campers in the next site and they were delightful - but we were closer than we would have liked for our needs (which is to escape the real world and decompress). A good campsite for passing through or perhaps coming with a bunch of friends so that the landscape isn't as important - but for us on this occasion, it wasn't the experience we were hoping for.
Happy to take my own part in that, I'll need to do better with scrutinising pictures and reviews given that we like to go camping for a particular kind of experience.
There's a lot of good stuff about these sites in general - they are functional and practical, but just not for us or for people who are seeking similar from their camping.
