Step into tranquillity and get ready for a truly authentic 'bush' experience at Kookaburra, a charming 20-acre farm tucked away between Ulladulla and Nowra on the NSW South Coast! Just under a three-hour drive from bustling Sydney and Canberra, Kookaburra offers a peaceful getaway that'll make you feel worlds away. Imagine setting up camp in our open paddock or nestling under the shade of our tree canopies! As an added bonus, there's a serene creekside just a short bushwalk away. Our area is home to a variety of wildlife, including friendly kookaburras, adorable wallabies and even the occasional wombat! It's definitely a haven for nature lovers! At Kookaburra, we ensure all our guests enjoy privacy and space. However, do bear in mind you're in a shared space and you might see other groups around. We operate on a self-sufficient model, so please remember to dispose of your rubbish responsibly and, of course, leave no trace in nature. Our farm family includes curious and friendly cows, free-roaming chickens and a delightful pig – they might even come say hello when you first pull in! Come join us at Kookaburra for a weekend getaway or an overnight stop. You're always welcome to drive in, pass the house and park in the back paddock. We're generally around if you need anything, but a simple wave is enough! Please note that if you plan to arrive after dark, do let us know in advance so we can provide any necessary arrangements. We allow fires (subject to Fire Danger Ratings), and you can even cut your own firewood! We love pets too, so bring them along, remembering to supervise them around the farm animals and wildlife. Remember – at Kookaburra, phone reception is limited (pretty much non-existent), so be sure to come prepared. And although a 2WD vehicle generally suffices, adverse weather may require a 4WD. Don't forget to bring pest repellent, watch out for those wombat holes and keep an eye out for tree stumps and snakes! We can't wait for you to experience the magic Kookaburra has in store! See you soon!

Kookaburra One
no Hwy noise … huge paddock. we loved the interaction with the horse , cows and wombat. Could cut lawn where campers are and perhaps in time make the creek more accessible. Pleasant camp

Kookaburra Three
We just spent 3 nights at Kookaburra and had a great time. We met the pig, friendly cows, the horse, billions of cicadas (bring ear plugs) and a very lonesome frog in the middle of the night seeking shelter from the storm. The creek was great for cooling off and for rinsing the dog after finding lots of interesting things to roll in. All part of the farm stay/camping experience. We read some comments re road noise but we didn't have any issue with it at Site #1. A great place to use as a base to explore the South Coast. We had a great time camping there. Thankyou.

Kookaburra One
Great camping spot with a creek
I had an amazing stay at Kookaburra One! The site was easy to find and offered plenty of privacy, nestled in a cow paddock with small cattle, calves, and even a funny little pig. As the name suggests, there were kookaburras around too, adding to the charm. The area was lush with greenery, including ferns near a nearby creek that was easy to access and made for a lovely spot to relax. Out of all the sites, I’d say Site One is the best in terms of privacy and proximity to the creek. There was already a fire pit in place, which was a great touch. It rained overnight during my stay, and although some people have mentioned that 2WD vehicles might struggle in the rain, I had no issues getting out in my Hiace van. However, I can see how 2WD vehicles towing caravans could have some trouble on the wet grass. One thing to be mindful of: the resident pig is a bit of an escape artist! We accidentally let her out while driving in, but someone kindly came to lure her back. The location is also great—close to popular Jervis Bay attractions like Sussex Inlet and Huskisson. I’d definitely stay here again in a heartbeat. Just don’t forget to bring bug spray, as the insects are everywhere—but hey, that’s camping for you!
