Located in the wild Wild West of Northwest New Mexico. The tribes of Navajo, Zuni, Acoma, Apache all surround this wonderful watering hole. Frequented by traders, outlaws, artists and those who appreciate and enjoy nature. Hawks, Eagles, Owls, Mountain Lions, Bobcats and our other relatives frequent this beautiful piece of heaven as well. Old adobe ruins are located on the property to show old architecture and the civilizations that have been here long before the formation of the United States. The view of the stars are unobstructed and the sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking. Come share this piece of heaven with us.

We didn't explore much of the area as we were just passing through overnight, but we had a nice quiet place to stay and found some nice hiking trails in the area. The host, Ira, was very helpful and friendly!

This is something special!!!
Ira was a great host, no other way to put it. Communicative, flexible, and welcoming. I explored as much of the property as I reasonably could. I also set up my small camp shower in the nearby ruins, which made for a great way to unwind in the evening. The property is undergoing some upgrades as of October 2024, but the progress they’ve made is awesome. Ira has some very cool plans for the property, and I will 100% be back in the future.

Historic place to camp.
The rocky terrain makes tent camping difficult to set up, but arrive during day light hours and Ira the host may be able to direct you to the spots to stake down your tent. Opt in for breakfast, most of the ingredients are sourced locally.

Ira was very accommodating when we arrived late in the evening, made us an amazing breakfast, taught us a bit of history of the area that is now his farm/outpost and was a great host overall. It was difficult to find a place to pitch a tent on the rocky terrain so a bivy or free standing tent may be the way to go, but get here early, it can be a challange to navigate the rocky terrain.

Great primitive camping adventure
The good- Beautiful scenery, great host, yummy food, and sweet goats. Ira has an amazing vision for his property and I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him and his plans. I would definitely stay again and try out the location closer to the mountain and try some of the extra excursions. The bad- This is primitive camping and just needed to be listed as such. While they did bring water and had a bathroom at the main house, we were far enough away from the house that it wasn't resonable to trek back and forth. The campsite could use a table for eating the yummy food he made us.
