After moving here in late 2017, I knew I found a place that I wanted to share with others. This is the manifestation of that desire, and I hope you’ll love it as much as I do! If you think you’d enjoy camping with panoramic privacy and a small private waterfall, Camp Sunder falls couldn’t be more perfect. This brand new campsite is only a few hundred feet from the house along a mulched path, yet feels as though you’ve stepped into a storybook. There is a second secluded camping area in the forest here called Camp Boulderwood, which is very beautiful, and has a 10x16 tenting area, but has no waterfall. We are located at the very edge of the small city of Keene, New Hampshire, yet nestled in 368 acres of continuous protected forest. When you book Camp SUNDER FALLS (Site 1) it includes two tenting areas. Both can accommodate tents of about 7x8’ comfortably, with one being about 20’ from the falls, and the other close by, nestled in gigantic boulders, and adjacent to some baby falls, with a dish-washing area with potable water. The fire area is about a minute walk uphill, and has seating for 5, as well as about 10 tiki torches to help keep the bugs at bay. Fuel is available for purchase. Enjoy a glampish rain and bug-free experience 15 feet from Sunder Falls in a PROVIDED 9x9’ bug tent! Mood lighting and a petite picnic table with comfortable chairs complete this serene setting. REMOVABLE Wind/rain panels offer additional protection from the elements, should inclement weather occur. An outhouse is available for use, with a sawdust “flush”. Camp BOULDERWOOD, (Forested site 2) has a partially sunny 10x16’ tent site about a 1/5 mile trek into the forest, with a fire pit, chairs, water for drinking/dishes, bathroom, and tiki torches, and nothing but forest all around you. You will have access to almost a mile of private meandering paths leading through quintessential New England landscape. Enjoy a walking meditation alongside a rocky stream before ascending to the edge of an evergreen forest. See if you can spot the trail-side jumbo quartz embedded in the earth. You’ll find a trailhead to Robinhood park 1/4 mile from the house, which connects to a 4+ mile trail network. Robinhood has a lovely pond, picnic areas, tennis, and a playground. Across the street from this trailhead is an entrance to the Northfield cemetery. This 78 acre sanctuary includes many acres of protected wetlands, ancient trees, the best sunsets in town, and lovely streams. Tour the town’s murals, hike up Mt. Monadnock or explore Pisgah State Park. Dine at one of dozens of restaurants, catch a movie, throw some axes at The Keene Axe House, and retreat back to your home-base with a cozy campfire. Firewood can be provided for a fee, but it isn’t necessary if you don’t mind gathering it up for free SOME LOCAL HIKING & RECREATIONAL OPTIONS * Robinhood Park: 1 mile away, 3 minute drive to the main entrance. (Description above) * Beaver Brook Falls : 1 mile away, 4 minute drive. Lovely paved trail that runs parallel to Beaver Brook. Site 1 (Falls site)
Great setting
The core area of the Falls site is idyllic. You can set up your tent just feet from the waterfall, a hammock, and a very protective and peaceful bug-and-rain tent. The whole site is large and spread out, perfect for groups. As a solo camper, I found the layout to be a bit of a challenge. The site’s picnic table is in the bug tent, which makes for the perfect dining room. But the cooking area is up the hill, so I got plenty of exercise bringing food and equipment up the hill to cook and the meals back down to the bug tent to eat. The dishwashing station is a nice touch. Julie provides a lot of good info upfront and she is responsive on text

Site 2 (forest site)
The hike is so worth the effort
This site is quite a hike but there are at least 2 paths with one being longer but easier. Once you arrive you will find a table with a wash station for dishes and hands. Bug spray. Tiki torches with fluid and firewood available to buy. An amazing fire pit with 2 cozy chairs. A magnetic dart board which kept the girls busy for a while. The pathway is lined with reflective signs and arrows. You can’t get lost. The site had lots of wood in the surrounding forest to burn in the pit and lots of trails to explore. We saw lots of birds and newts and other animals. The Barred owls sweetly sang to us every night. Julie, the host, was so nice to provide all the extras and kept everything so neat and clean. The potty tent was a sawdust toilet and was kept clean with hand sanitizer. Thanks to Julie for a magical time.

Site 1 (Falls site)
A magical place that takes you away
My family absolutely loved both sites. We had such a great time. The host, Julie, was super supportive and responsive, yet non invasive. She had set everything up so amazingly beautiful. Fairy lights, wind chimes, quartz rocks and artwork lined the mulched pathways and made it easy to find your way around. Once at the site there were surprises to make our camping experience even better. The screen house at the “Falls” site was cozy and a great bug free place to sit and relax. The fire pit at the “”Boulder Woods site” was amazing. Tiki torches available and lots of firewood for sale but we actually found so much dry kindling and wood in the surrounding forest that we didn’t feel the need to buy any. This site was quite a hike to get to but so worth it. Just take most of what you need up at the start. The lighter, the better. Both sites had water and dish washing station tables, bug zappers and lanterns at site 1, extra chairs at both. Hammocks at both sites were so relaxing and the girls (teens) loved them. Thanks to Julie we had a magical time and I highly recommend both sites which are each completely different experiences. My heart will be back at my camp site for quite a while.
