Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Welcome to Marshwiggle Farm. Here on our little slice of paradise, we enjoy raising our family, some chickens and a few pigs! We grow a big garden filled with both vegetables and flowers. Our LGD, Yukon, guards the farm and happily makes sure the deer, raccoons and bunnies stay away. His perimeter is an electric fence up by our house so he won’t be visiting you. Your tent site is located on the back of our 18 acre farm and you have your own private lane to access the campsite. We are located next to a designated dark sky area so the stargazing is fantastic! Plus wildlife is abundant including our two Sandhill cranes that live on the pond. Dr Lawless Park is a designated DARK SKY and is located 1/4 of a mile away. This park has fantastic mountain biking and hiking so bring your bikes to enjoy a good ride! There is space to park your boat for use on the local lakes. Birch Lake is absolutely gorgeous and makes for a great kayak ride. Enjoy fishing or water sports on local Diamond or Donnell Lakes located within a few minutes of our farm. We are around 45 minutes from Amish country Shipshewana and Notre Dame Stadium. Nearest Commercial Airport: South Bend International Airport (~33 miles away) We are located 15 minutes away from grocery stores in case you forget something!OFF GRID camping experience *Secluded, private and quiet *Located next to a designated DARK SKY zone *Star gazing *Wildlife, deer and birds *Perfect intimate getaway for two *Bathroom with flushable toilet and running water *Outdoor shower with hot water Hawthorn campsite is complete with a tent, a queen bed -fully made, a bunk bed cot, (no bedding provided for cots) picnic table outside and a fire ring. The tent has screened windows and door which keeps the bugs out and lets in great air flow! We have a fire starting kit that also included a bundle of firewood for your first evening fire. There are more firewood bundles available for purchase. Let us treat you to a farm fresh breakfast! Our breakfast baskets are filled with locally sourced food including our pasture raised pork grown here at the farm! Breakfast baskets are non refundable. Please message me to order yours! A Farmer’s Breakfast Basket: $50 *A package of of our own pasture raised bacon *A package of our own pasture raise pork sausage links *Marshwiggle Farm Pancake Mix (gluten free available to substitute upon request) *Fresh Maple syrup (made by my husband’s dad) *Butter to enjoy on pancakes *Freshly locally roasted and ground coffee (enough for 2+ French presses) Sarah’s Breakfast Basket: $50 *Locally sourced quart of yogurt from Moonique Dairy *Fresh granola *Fresh Maple syrup (made by my husband’s dad) *Four fresh cinnamon rolls *Freshly locally roasted and ground coffee enough for 2+ French presses Your personal, private bathroom is just a short walk from the tent. There is running water, lights and a flushable toilet. Enjoy a relaxing shower under the stars in your outdoor shower. The water is non-potable. We have a strict NO smoking/vaping rule. You will be staying on the back corner of our farm and while the site feels very private, you might hear children playing. Our farm is guarded by Yukon, who is a livestock guard dog. His perimeter is an electric fence that keeps him up by our house. He works mostly at night and so you might hear his gruff bark. He’s just warning a deer or raccoon that they aren’t welcome. We welcome his hard work but also understand that not everyone will be ok with what he does. Please do not try and pet him as he is not friendly to strangers.

This is a great campsite that is easy to access but feels very private even when other people are at the sites nearby. The bathroom is kept incredibly clean and exceeded our expectations. We have a rooftop tent and had no issues making sure our tent was level, as there were plenty of level areas in our spot. This spot does not have any trees, which wasn't an issue for us, but if you're looking for a shady spot, this wouldn't be a great fit. The hosts were great to communicate with and had no problems with our late arrival. We will visit again!

Nice new sites. Bull Frogs, Sandhill Cranes, and Hawk made the nature special. The wood we bought was nice dry hardwood. No insect issues. Bathroom was close, new, and clean. The sites are in a field with tall grass to separate them, no woods close by.

Quiet site with gorgeous views

This was an absolutely stunning place to camp. I was attending an event nearby and didn't want the noise of the main camp - this was the perfect place. Easy to find, tons of stars and frogs calling at night from the nearby marsh, and the toilet/bathroom was clean - a flush/compisting toilet on a hipcamp listing is like this is rare and really nice. The site was on a pretty steep hill, so using the gravel tent pad was essential, and I don't think there would have been a good spot for a second sleeping tent unless it was quite small. I drove a Prius in and out and it did fine, but if the ground had been wetter, coming out of the site could have been tricky. Because I was spending days at an event, i didnt use the table or fire pit but they were both clean and in great condition. I come to this area frequently and will ABSOLUTELY book again when I do. Next time I hope to take advantage of bringing home some of the pork products from the farm!

My girlfriend and I had a great time at Marshwiggle Farm! The site was quiet peaceful, and private, and the proximity to the Dark Sky Park made for very beautiful night skies. Just a couple recommendations for other campers. We experienced a tremendous amount of flies so citronella candles or incense will be a huge help as it was for us. Also, there is minimal shade, so bring your canopy! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back!

Beautiful, quiet place!

Sarah's land is BEAUTIFUL! Most adorable baby bunnies just hopping around, deer, cool looking birds. I didn't interact with Sarah in person, but we did her husband and he was very welcoming! I only seen ONE tick which was awesome lol. We would definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area!
