We are proud to share this piece of Montville Maine land, which was the original home of Haystack Mountain School of Arts in the 1950's, a renowned Art school, where potters, painters, woodworkers, and others would come spend summers in communal art studios to perfect their craft! It was the first Art school that taught Raku style pottery in the USA. Serindipidiously, it is now owned by Colette Shumate-Smith- a Raku artist and painter that has spent her life both learning and teaching her craft!
Located along State Rt 3, between Augusta and Belfast, you will drive through gorgeous rolling hills, and soak in some amazing views to get here!!
