Welcome to our beautiful property! This is a very special place, located an hour from Chicago and only minutes from the west suburbs, you will be transported to another time! This has to be the best “swimming/ fishing hole” in Chicagoland and you can have it all to yourself. The property features 20 acres of woods, prairie and an 8 acre lake!!! The lake is crystal clear because it’s so deep (reportedly 125 ft) and is sandy on the bottom. We created a massive beach area with many camping spots to choose from. The kids will love exploring the trails on foot and on bike. Everyone will love lounging under the umbrellas on the comfy chaise lounges and enjoying the views. You won’t want to leave, but if you need to restock, there a gas station 1/4 mile away and full service grocery store and restaurant under a mile away. We even get pizza delivered! There’s a nice driveway of gravel that leads to a nice open field for RV campers. Tent campers can continue to the beach and set up in style. The property was once an active quarry and was then basically abandoned for 40-50 years. Nature took over over, Trees matured, the stocked lake grew some massive fish. A few years ago we started camping out there and just loved it. We’ve worked hard to make it amazing and we want to share it with you.Come enjoy the best swimming and fishing spot in Chicagoland! Entire 20 acre property to enjoy with no one else there. Swim, fish (catch and release) and enjoy life with friends and family at this amazing property. You will just love it! The property was an active quarry that was abandoned 50 years ago. The trees matured, the fish in the stocked lake grew huge and nature took over. Over the last years we’ve worked hard to create an amazing place to share with our family and now we are sharing it with you. The entire property is 20 acres including an 8 acre lake, woods, hills, prairies and hiking/biking trails. Our favorite part is the huge beach area which has a pier, a fire pit, picnic table, chaise lounges and floating toys. Its so peaceful and beautiful, but can also be loads of fun for kids and those who are kids at heart! The water is incredible clear because the quarry is so deep (reportedly 125 feet). Take a dive off the pier and see if you can verify!!! Location is great. We are 2 miles from I-88, and hour from Chicago and just minutes from the western suburbs. Whether you’re passing through or live just 5 miles away, you’ll be amazed that a place like this exists in this area. You won’t want to leave, but if you need to restock there’s a gas station .25 miles away, a full service grocery store 1 mile away and loads of restaurants close by. We even get pizza delivered sometimes! If you really want to have an adventure, Raging Waves water park is about 8 minutes south. No matter what you do while you’re here, we are sure you’ll be asking about your next trip back. We can’t wait to share this spot with you!

The campsite offers a clean, private, and serene environment, perfect for a family getaway or a quiet retreat with friends. Visitors appreciate the spaciousness for setting up tents and parking, and the beautiful, clear water of the quarry lake adds to the experience. The area is well-equipped with necessary amenities like a fire pit, picnic tables, and chairs, making it convenient for campers. Some guests noted that the gate can be a bit challenging to open and close, and the site lacks a dumpster for trash disposal, but overall, the privacy and natural beauty make it a favored spot.

We had a great time at this site! Even with high winds, a tornado warning, and unexpected snowstorm, we felt nice and safe, tucked away at this old quarry with a quaint sand beach on the lake. Lots of fun checking out beautiful birds and exploring old quarry equipment in the woods! We’ll definitely be back someday when it’s warm (so we can swim) and bring family and friends. Plenty of room for a group to spread out in several areas! Highly recommend.

Very nice, private, and serene space! Just a note to those who book, our directions when using Apple Maps took us somewhere else (about 2 miles away). When we popped it into Google Maps it brought us to the correct spot! Just something to help you get there the 1st go around! Awesome spot. Thanks to the host for having us.

This place was awesome to stay at. It felt very private and safe. Me and my dogs had a wonderful time there. They were safe while they roamed. No animals that we had to deal with. I only wish there was a dumpster for trash in the parking area. This place was still a 5/5 for me because I didn’t have much trash as a solo traveler with dogs but I can see how a family or a long stay would
