Off the beaten path and off the grid, this working mini farm is a quiet getaway spot for naturalists. 3-5 miles to Crystal River and King's bay, within a 20 minute drive of the Rainbow river and downtown Dunnellon, beaches, and several nature preserves and parks. Learn more about this land: Enjoy the quiet solitude, the natural wooded surroundings, and the farm animals at this unique, off-the-grid, solar powered escape.  About the property Trails, waterways, and the nearby Gulf Coast offer plenty to see and do during your stay. Just 10 minutes from Crystal River, enjoy the abundant hiking, swimming, kayaking, bicycling, and horseback riding the area has to offer.  This is a working farm so expect to see horses, chickens, pigs, and our farm dog during your stay. Be sure to bring your farm shoes!  Your Hosts live onsite and are flexible to hang out and suggest activities if requested, but also happy to just show you around and then leave you to enjoy your stay in solitude.  Note that we offer three total Hipcamp sites, so you may see other travelers in common areas or in passing on the property during your stay.  About the listing We welcome self-contained travelers in camper vans, trucks, trailers, and RVs up to 35 feet in length.  Potable water is available. We don’t have a kitchen but you are welcome to cook on the grill over the firepit. You can also spread out during meals on the provided picnic table.  Enjoy the hot outdoor shower during your stay. If you’ve never showered under the stars, this is your chance! Campfires are allowed, and some wood is provided during your stay to get you started. Please fully extinguish fires after use, and always follow county restrictions if there is a fire ban due to dry weather. Additional details to note - No WiFi is provided, but we do have good cell service onsite. - Pets are allowed, as long as they won’t mind being around our animals.  - Feel free to dispose of your compost, recycling, and trash in the provided bins.  Enjoy the quiet solitude, the natural wooded surroundings, and the farm animals at this unique, off-the-grid, solar powered escape.  About the property Trails, waterways, and the nearby Gulf Coast offer plenty to see and do during your stay. Annie's acres/off the grid farm
Camping with animals <3
This is our second time camping here and we love it. We loved being surrounded by the animals. They’re all so sweet. Coleen is great and super accommodating. Can’t wait to be back again next year. <3

Annie's acres/off the grid farm
Realities of a farm
Loved how off the grid the camp was yet, had a hot shower everyday. Definitely bring your own toilet and power if your camping experience requires that. One not so great thing was the dog that was on the farm. Decided to bark non stop from 1:00am to about 6:00am every morning, made sleep kind of impossible. Host and hostess were very kind and accommodating. Expect farm smells. Was super cool to see the pigs and horses, but anticipate feeling like you are sleeping with the pigs when the wind blows just right. All in all, to be clear, was not a bad experience, just maybe a few unexpected factors. Would recommend to a friend, maybe I’d avoid a hot weekend next time, but that’s on me....

Terrific hosts and we will certainly be back! We enjoyed our horses, chickens and pigs as neighbors. The outdoor shower was wonderful. Thanks again to Colleen and John for hanging with us and taking us on a boat ride!

This property is used to train horses and is home to very friendly hosts. The host has an overhang in which she let us park our conversion van. This was an ideal setup considering we were there on a rainy day. This site is also home to a super affection dog, which we had a hard time leaving behind haha. Wether you are showing up to camp in a tent, conversion van or RV...there is room for everyone. We had a great time here and hope you do too!
Location
Dunnellon, Citrus, Florida, United StatesTraditional, ancestral territory of Seminole, Miccosukee, and Mascogo First Nations according to To respect the Host's privacy, the precise address of this land will be provided after booking
