Bell tents and spacious pitches in the Teme Valley, close to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
It is no coincidence that By the Red Phone Box's name sounds like it was lifted straight from a children's book. Offering a spot of magic in the headland of a hayfield, this campsite provides secluded glamping along with stripped-back camping on the edge of the Teme Valley. Husband-and-wife team Ian and Emma believe guests will be as taken with their site's natural surroundings as they are, and with its positioning in view of Clee Hill along with all the accompanying wildlife, it's not difficult to see why. This site looks more reminiscent of a scene from The Wind in the Willows than your average camping destination.By the Red Phone Box boasts two furnished, spacious six-metre bell tents, lovingly named Evelyn and Lillian, each situated in their own small field. The former is nestled within three hedges and tucked away behind a fence, offering a distinctive woodland feel complemented by its dark timber furniture. Lillian is in more open ground, but still offers a sense of seclusion thanks to its distance from campers and car park. Privacy in both tents is further guaranteed by their own bathroom and kitchen facilities. Hot showers and compost loos are hidden away in unique converted horse trailers, while a two-burner gas hob, dining set, and necessary utensils are also provided in an outdoor kitchen. Ian and Emma wanted guests to be able to share the picturesque location of By the Red Phone Box, while also ensuring that their carbon footprint remained as low as possible. As such, the site is off-grid aside from mains water. There's no electricity here and bottled gas is used to heat the showers and hob. Aside from the bell tents' personal showers, there is also a separate shepherd's hut containing a bathroom for the site's three available camping pitches, all of which are located within a spacious field with uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside.Local seasonal produce can be purchased from the on-site shop, along with wood and kindling for the bell tents' provided fire pits. You can even grab yourself some breakfast or book a spot of afternoon tea. To further ensconce yourself in your wonderfully wild surroundings, take a trip down to the neighbouring Commonwood Farm, which allows guests to enjoy a picnic in its ancient perry pear orchard. It's all so quaint that you'll soon feel like a character lifted from the pages of that children's book.

Grass Camping Pitch
Tidy field with lots of sheep to look at. The composting toilet and shower were clean and tidy. Lots of space and other campers were both friendly and polite. Would return.

Large private area, great facilitie
It was wonderful having a whole field to ourselves. The bell tent was lovely and our private kitchen area and separate private bathroom had everything we needed. Very luxurious, private set up with a very generous amount of space.

Get away from it all to our area of outstanding natural beauty and stay on our off grid eco site in one of our two fully furnished bell tents, or camp in the large adjacent camping field. The Bell tents are sited separately in their own individual secluded, peaceful little fields, offering privacy peace and quiet with their own private areas and facilities, the only shared area is the parking! This is all on our working stock farm in Knighton-on-Teme. The parking is near but not next to the tents. This leads over a small bridge between the trees, to the first of our tents, Evelyn, this field is more secluded with a woodland feel, just a short walk between the hedge row and our living wall (created to provide privacy to visitors staying in Evelyn) is the second tent called Lillian, Walkways have been cut into the meadow grass whilst maintaining a natural habitat for the wildlife.  Each tent is furnished with a comfortable double bed and for children, camp beds can be provided, which will you need to bring your own sleeping bags for .  To keep warm on those chilly nights there are hot water bottles, and if you're sitting outside, fire pits Both tents have a bathroom which is in a converted Rice Horse Trailer. Lillian’s bathroom has a modern feel while Evelyn’s bathroom has a quirky vintage feel. They also have an outdoor kitchen containing a double gas burner hob, cutlery, cooking utensils dinning sets along with China teapots etc. BBQs are also provided. The camping is along the headland of our hay field, there is no fence between the hay field and the three camping pitches, giving lots of space and uninterrupted views of the countryside.  this is directly off the parking area, we ask that after pitching up, unless you vehicle forms part of your accommodation, that you leave the vehicle parked just inside the camping field for the rest of your stay.
