Camping in the beautiful country of Suffolk, with a rustic dining experience like no other

The serene countryside of Suffolk is home to Fire and Feast; a small, secluded campsite and family farm. With such arable open country land at their doorstep, it’s no wonder the owners have enthusiastically created the perfect place to combine their two biggest passions — authentic rustic cooking and the tranquil outdoors. With a picture-perfect backdrop of the countryside, this is an ideal spot for campers to relax, unwind and create unforgettable meals and memories around the campfire.

Fire and Feast offers a variety of cooking demonstrations and hands-on workshops, so you can learn interesting new skills and experience the thrill and enjoyment of open-wood fire cooking. Sustainable farming and locally sourced food are the focus of Fire and Feast — the 100-acre farm is home to free-range poultry and the kitchen garden boasts seasonal produce and fresh herbs. Family, beginner and advanced workshops all emphasize learning the art of outdoor cookery, including using different techniques to build and control a fire, a necessity when cooking outdoors in the countryside. As the campfire wood crackles away, celebrate the best of Suffolk food alongside the other guests, as you are invited to enjoy an alfresco feast in the welcoming communal tipi.

Beautiful meadow pitches and pre-pitched safari tents are available for campers, which come equipped with cooking equipment, picnic tables and views of the countryside by day and Suffolk starry skies by night. Surround yourself with the tranquillity of the back-to-basics farm, set in a rural location but offering an abundant array of places to discover nearby. It’s a place of simple pleasures, a relaxed and comfortable base from which to explore the northeast of Suffolk.

Start with the Suffolk Coast, with its quaint seaside towns and sandy beaches. Adventure into the countryside to find coastal heathlands, meandering rivers and rolling fields — ideal for wildlife lovers, walkers, cyclists and those who like to splash around in the water. Attractions for fun family days out do not go missed — a few of interest and in close proximity include the Oasis Camel Park, Africa Alive and magical treehouses at Bewilderwood. There is history, art, music, shopping malls, quirky markets and, of course, local food and drink experiences.

With food and fun on-site and attractions so close by, come with a healthy appetite and lose yourself in the peaceful yet vibrant environment that Fire and Feast has to offer.

2 - Classic, South African Safari Tent - Classic South African Safari Tent
What a fabulous spot!
We stayed in one of the pitched tents for a long weekend and had a great time. The wood fired cooking apparatus was great to use and the tent was well supplied. Hosts were very welcoming and easily contactable. Facilities were very clean and the camping barn was cavernous which is great for a rainy day. Beautiful location, very peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. All I would say is to make sure you bring something alternative to heat water etc if the weather is a bit rainy, but we made do just fine and really enjoyed our long weekend. The Sunday brunch was amazing - definitely worth attending - I imagine the Saturday night dinners are great too, though there wasn't one while we stayed. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely site, perfect for pitching tent , great low meadow to separate each tent set-up. Great to have Roadii fire cooker and picnic bench, and iron cookware (we forgot ours!!) Loved little details: who gives a crap loo roll. Wildflower prints in loo. Maps for local walks- we did Roman Road one. Strong sustainable feel to site. Fran, Judith and Chris and Bob great hosts. Friendly and offered info. Check out the under the pier arcade. My teen boys loved it. Thank-you

Meadow pitch
Beautiful and well equipped site
Lovely site with lovely hosts. The pitches were spacious and the facilities in the barn were amazing. Having the option to use their cafe was also a life saver when it rained and we didn’t want fancy cooking. Can’t wait to visit again.

If you love good food, woodfires and getting away from it all then Fire and Feast is the place for you. With big Suffolk skies above and a backdrop of birdsong and meadow flowers rustling in the breeze, our family farm is just the place for a long lazy weekend or a family holiday making memories around the campfire. The secluded campsite is intentionally small to provide you with all the space you need to relax and the large meadow pitches are cut into long grass to create further privacy. If you fancy stretching your legs, our network of re-wilded tracks and fields across the farm link to local footpaths, providing country walks for little legs or keen hikers, and miles of rural lanes are perfect for cycling. We love cooking on woodfires and want to give you every opportunity to experience the joy of outdoor cooking too, so every pitch is equipped with a full fire cooking kit/ fire bowl and we are always on hand to share tips and recipe ideas. Local food is abundant, with the Fire and Feast Kitchen Garden providing fresh herbs and seasonal produce every day, a great opportunity for your littles ones to discover the joy of munching on fresh garden peas or the wonderful taste of corn-on-the-cob picked from the garden. Our small onsite stop showcases local food from the area.Take your fire and food adventure further by signing up for an adult or family cooking workshop, with options to suit both new and experienced fire cooks and for shared family cooking; or avoid the washing up and dine in the Fire and Feast Tipi with rustic suppers on Saturday nights and a Sunday Café offering brunch, fresh brewed coffee and home baked cakes. For days out, you are spoilt for choice. The Suffolk Coast, with its quaint seaside towns and unspoilt beaches, is less than thirty minutes away; Framlingham and Orford Castles are both good to explore; shopping in Norwich and Bury St Edmunds and a multitude of small market towns with quirky independent shops offer wide retail choice; Easton Farm Park and Kessingland Wildlife Park for family days out and Snape Maltings, Summer Theatres in Aldeburgh and Southwold and a multitude of music festivals offer something for art lovers.
