Newly installed Shepherds huts in the Cotswolds. Outside kitchen with woodburning stove /oven, gas rings, Firepit, indoor and outdoor seating. Newly installed compost toilets and shower cubicle. Electric sockets and lighting in the huts. Both have double beds. A tipi allows flexible sleeping for families and larger groups. The farm is a wildlife lover’s paradise with woodland walks and bird spotting opportunities. Fancy a cooked breakfast? Buy farm-fresh eggs for a morning fry-up, and add seasonal vegetables to your evening barbecue from the farm or by picking up supplies in Marshfield (five minutes’ drive) – although you’re also spoilt for choice of welcoming pubs serving good food within a 5 minute drive.

Damson Hut

My partner and I, by twist of good fortune, spent a night in both the Wonky Cockerel and Shepherds Hut. Neither disappointed. Oozing with natural charm, simplicity and warmth, the two were well-equipped for a ‘back to basics’ stay. The site is complimented by a pair of composting toilets (his and hers?) along with a warm outdoor shower. The chance to cook in an outdoor kitchen was a treat: wood fuelled oven, gas burners and charming simplicity. All the amenities you’d need and none that you don’t. This is all then topped off with a warm welcome and tour from the super-friendly host - Alison. If removing modern-day distractions, growing closer to your loved ones and getting back in touch with nature is what you’re looking for, then look no further. Thank you for making this a holiday to remember - we’ll be back.

Cozy Comfort and Countryside Charm

Damson Hut

Shirehill Farm is a great retreat, offering a cozy and traditional ambiance that instantly captivates. The adorable Shepherds hut comes equipped with a double bed, drawers, and a snug logburner that keeps you warm throughout your stay. They've provided a basket of logs for a cozy evening in. Tea and coffee making facilities are available, and the outdoor kitchen is perfect for a BBQ or morning breakfast. The fire pit and outdoor seating area create an ideal setting for stargazing. For larger groups, the tipi with two single beds is a fantastic addition. It's an amazing place to unwind and immerse yourself in the peaceful countryside, while still being conveniently located near Bath and the charming village of Castle Combe. Shirehill Farm truly offers the best of both worlds, providing a secluded farm experience combined with easy access to nearby attractions.
