Pure & Rustic
Unfortunately due to an emergency surgery that my husband had to undergo, we were unable to make our camping trip. However, I would still love to point out that Mark was absolutely incredible. He was so caring and obliging. He tried to assist by postponing the trip for us but we were still unable to make it. He then offered us a refund. He really was the perfect host even though we weren’t there, keeping contact and always being thoughtful and considerate.. we will certainly plan a camping trip there in the near future again.

Dreadful
Well what can I say- the photos don’t do this place justice!! It is nothing like the photographs, the toilets need to be condemned, the washing up area is dirty, we didn’t even try the showers- that was enough!
Then there is the ‘collection’ of dilapidated caravans- sadly we also had the noisiest neighbours who decided to play loud music and cut wood at gone 2200 - on the plus side the location could be lovely. Mark was great at communicating and gave a full refund - very very disappointed- wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning sadly 😏

Great place for a family holiday
The campsite and setting were wonderful. They had all the facilities that we needed; toilets, showers, washing machines, fridge and access to electricity. We really enjoyed exploring the woods and river around the campsite and there was plenty of firewood and blackberries to collect. Lots of good nearby surfing beaches and we really enjoyed completing the Tarka cycle trail. Mark was a very welcoming and helpful host.

Pure & Rustic indeed!
Pure & Rustic certainly lives up to the name! It’s a beautiful site with acres of thriving wildflower meadows and woodland to discover. There are paths meandering across the whole site, you could spend days exploring, building shelters in the woods, spotting wildlife, the list goes on.
The camp site is in it’s own private field located towards the end of the property, so you feel very tucked away. You’re surrounded by green and there’s a quaint little stream that runs alongside the field, providing a lovely atmosphere. The facilities are basic but functional and are close by to the camp site, they are due to upgrade later in the year / early next.
It would be ideal for self sufficient campers who are looking for a private and quiet place to kick back and relax in nature. There are also a number of free for all caravans in the neighbouring plot, which is great if you’ve only brought a tent and the weather isn’t being kind!
Mark and his wife are great hosts, very friendly and helpful throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, thank you for having me.

Back to Good Old Fashioned Camping
Pure and Rustic is exactly what it sates on the tin, Mark was very friendly and only asked that you enjoy your stay. The site is down a country lane that is very quite and devoid of any light and noise pollution. Surrounded by forest and hills and a short 15 minute walk to the pub via footpaths was a treat. We are a family with 3 teenage boys and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in our small caravan and pup tents. The site is perfectly located for getting to the beaches and local towns. The Bus stops at the end of the road as well if you don't want to drive. The site was quite when we first got there but a group joined later. Mark manages the site very well and is relaxed and comfortable with all his visitors. You can use the main camping area or go in to their woods and camp wild if you fancy. The Amenities are basic but that was fine for us. Certainly worth a try if your out that way and don't mind a bit of proper camping

Great to unwind.
Mark was a very welcoming host and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. Gave us a lovely spot to park with an awning, seating and a fire. Thanks
