Year-round pod glamping in the Yorkshire Dales near Malham Cove and Gordale Scar

The four pods of Malhamdale Glamping sit within the rolling hills and drystone walls of, arguably, the best bit the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Malhamdale is home to some of the most dramatic scenery in the whole of the Dales. And whether you want to step out on the Pennine Way, climb the limestone walls of Malham Cove or simply gaze at the waterfalls of Gordale Scar, it’s all within easy reach. In fact, choose a stay at one of these immaculately clean and cosy pods and you’ll find all of those sights within walking distance. Likewise the on-site farm shop, cafe and more than one good Yorkshire pub.

Each pod is a self-contained, self-catering bolthole. With a double bed and a sofa bed too, each works as well for a couple as it does for a family of up to four. Dogs are welcome if they are kept on leads and well-behaved around livestock. This is a farm site after all and the view out the glass front of your pod won’t let you forget that. It’s a simply stunning scene. Beyond the limestone wall that surrounds the pod paddock, it’s all fields and farmland, rolling hills and dales punctuated with trees, cows and sheep.

Back in your pod, you’re well equipped to look after yourself with a kitchenette inside and a barbecue-cum-fire pit outside. There’s a dining table, a sofa, a shower and loo. It’s even got a TV and underfloor heating which is handy as these pods are open all year. The pod proportions may be dinky but they comfortably fit pretty much everything you’d expect from a holiday cottage – in a location that’s hard to beat. Walk out the front door and you hit the Pennine Way within a few hundred metres. This well-signposted national trail is the route to follow to the village of Malham, to Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar. Alternatively drive to any of them in just a few minutes, get on your bike for some of the country’s best cycling routes or head a little further to the market town of Skipton.

Ewe Moor
We loved our glamping Easter break at Malhamdale glamping. We stayed in Ewe Moor. It was spotlessly clean. Tasteful decor and with all essentials included, which made for a relaxing stay. The views from the pod are beautiful. We can highly recommend and would definitely come back.

Lovely weekend away
We had a fantastic time in the glamping pod. All equipment was provided and everything was extremely clean and well-looked after. The farm shop next door is great and has lovely coffee and there are amazing walks nearby.

Most of all, quick response from host by Hipcamp chat. Well organized glamping stuff and tidy and cosy site. No bother the other pods. Really good to stay 2+2 family. Good location to a lot of trailing courses around Malham Cove. (My wife was happy to visit indeed. :D).

Located in the heart of the Yorkshire dales our 4 luxury glamping pods take full advantage of the panoramic view towards Malham Cove. Surrounded by rolling countryside criss-crossed with limestone walls for which this area in renowned, the pods form an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts, with stunning walks including the Pennine Way, leading to Malham Cove, Janet"s Foss, Gordale Scar and Malham Tarn. Also nearby are 3 pubs, ideal for cosy nights by the fire, good food and local beers. Malhamdale glamping is set on our working farm in the beautiful Yorkshire dales. The four glamping pods are in a quiet corner, a dry stone wall and hedging affording some privacy. Once settled in step outside your luxurious pod and soak up the unique view across the typical dales landscape to malham cove. Then perhaps take the 2 minute walk to the on site farm shop and tearoom to browse the great quality produce and enjoy coffee and cake. Footpaths criss cross the surrounding countryside, one in particular is the pennine way only a few hundred yards from the site. Malhamdale glamping is within easy walking distance of both malham and Kirkby malham. Malham is a popular village on the pennine way. The main attractions are the stunning scenery of malham cove and gordale scar - probably the two most impressive sights in the whole of the Yorkshire dales. Both are a stroll away from the centre of the village as is Janet’s Foss. There are two pubs in malham and one in Kirkby malham. The buck inn and the listers arms in malham are both big old country pubs. The smaller Victoria inn is in Kirkby malham. All have a good selection of ales and offer substantial meals at reasonable prices. Each pod has its own picnic bench and fire pit/barbecue situated at the side of the pod so being screened from its neighbours. Internally the pod has a shower, wash basin and WC. The kitchenette is fully equipped, including microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and two ring hob. A double bed and sofa bed, dining table and chairs and t.v complete the open plan living free Wi-Fi is also available. Don’t worry about bike safety as we offer secure storage for bike, muddy boots and clothing. A well behaved dog is welcome in two designated pods, but please bear in mind there is livestock all around.
Nearby attractions

Malhamdale Glamping is within the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the edge of the picturesque village of Airton. It’s just south of Kirby Malham (one mile) and Malham (two miles). You can drive to either in a matter of minutes or walk a very short distance to join the Pennine Way National Trail which links both. From Malham you can follow an eight-mile circular route to visit Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar (each around three miles from site if you’re heading there directly). Malham Cove is an impressive arc of limestone cliffs standing almost 300 feet tall. There’s good climbing there and impressive views from the top (which you can walk to – if you’re not a climber). Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar, a limestone gorge, are both popular for their waterfalls. For a really challenging walk, you can drive to Horton-in-Ribblesdale (12 miles) to set out on the 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. The whole of the national park is great for road cyclists – with Buttertubs Pass a popular place to head through and there’s good mountain biking as well. There’s a secure place to leave bikes on site. The market towns of Settle and Skipton are both within 10 miles of site too.

Food and drink

You won’t miss Town End Farm Shop and cafe, because it’s on the farm where you’re staying and you’ll pass it as you drive in and out. It’s not only handy – but lovely; full of local produce for your barbecue and cooking on site. But if you don’t fancy that, the cafe provides a great alternative venue for breakfast or lunch. For dinner, you might like to head to one of the three pubs within easy walking distance: The Victoria Inn at Kirby Malham or The Buck or The Lister in Malham itself. If you fancy a curry, there’s a highly-recommended Indian restaurant, Bollywood Cottage, five miles away in Gargrave too – and there are plenty more shops and eateries in Skipton (eight miles) as well.
