3 acres hosted by Daisy G.
A woodland space for relaxing and getting back in touch with nature In a peaceful valley. Here at Chy an Goverrow we live off grid, it means living with less and really appreciating what you have in front of you, including seasonal change, self sufficiency, embracing the wildness all around. We are still modern, civilised people, but we take time here, recognising the importance of a more easy going and primitive lifestyle. We take water from the river to wash dishes, clothes and ourselves. All our waste is composted and will be used to fertilise our food plants in the garden (kitchen waste) and the trees in the woods (composting toilet waste). We only use soaps that are natural and eco friendly, and promote buying locally grown and organic food where possible. If you are quiet you may see the red or roe deer, foxes, badgers, squirrels, any number of birds including woodpeckers, the resident buzzard and a whole parliament of owls! Down by the river you may see trout, if the heron hasn’t eaten them all, dragon and damsel flies a plenty, and if you’re lucky the kingfisher!
There is limited phone signal in the valley, and you will not have access to mains electric. (Time to turn off and find the most useful app on your phone is your torch.) There are a couple of cafes in and around Lamorna (list of these in the Welcome Pack on arrival). We are 10 mins walk from the sea, with harbour walls, boulders and a small sandy beach at low tide. On the way back to your tent there is a well known pub called The Wink to catch a refreshing beer after the long coastal walks you could take. Walk out to Carn Barges on the West side, further on to Tater Du, the lighthouse, and on to St Loy, or go East to Carn Du, then on to Mousehole.
