PLEASE GET IN TOUCH BEFORE BOOKING TO ENQUIRE ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF ELECTRIC HOOK-UPS. The tent and motor home pitches are dispersed so the pitch number may not be the same as your allocated pitch (but these are all the same). Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway near to Buxton in the Peak District. Enjoy the beautiful countryside, which is well known for great walks, cycling and which is full of pretty little English villages to visit. There is a local pub a stone's throw away, and a donkey sanctuary next door. There are also many more pubs in the area serving delicious meals. Historic towns such as Bakewell, Matlock, and Tideswell are also close by.

Camping Pitch 1
GREYSTONES NAWAB
Me and 2 friends booked 3 potches for 3 nights. The pitch itself was good, spacious and flat. The facilities, for the size of the site were poor. 1 shower only working, the second one hadn't been " programmed" to take £1 coins for 5 minute shower 2 toilets, no soap or hand drying facility and no bin. Electricity quoted at £10 per night per pitch so not a reasonable option No washing up facility at all just a single cold tap on a stand which served drinking water. I am happy to camp on a site with basic facilities but I do expect access to hot running water as a matter of basic hygiene The owner had very much a take it or leave it attitude

Camping Pitch 2
Avoid!
We planned to stay Friday-Monday for the bank holiday weekend and arrived in our caravan. Due to the bad weather it was almost impossible to get onto site and every vehicle got stuck meaning all the grass etc was ripped to pieces making it a mud fest, not a great site for caravans. After paying £10 a night extra for power, we were left without power for most of the weekend, Friday the power went off at 7pm and due to owner being out, we didn't get any power back on until around 10:30pm, then in the morning when we woke up, we was again without power which went on till about 9am - this was blamed on a 'customers faulty appliance' however however the entire site is fed from the owners house. I did try and call the owner at 8am, but all phones were off... There were kids on site crying due to being in complete darkness and extremely cold and a lady next to us in a tent who had to sleep in their car both nights to keep warm. The next night on Saturday, the power was off again from around 7pm and didn't come back on until around 11am, we then made the decision to pack up and come home because we couldn't bare another night sat in the dark, cold and unable to even make a hot drink. Not once were we updated on the situation! I was promised a refund and was told this would be paid Tuesday, however still no refund which I thought would be the case. We have paid £80 for a weekend that was completely ruined. Still waiting for refund which I highly doubt I’ll be receiving!

Camping Pitch 4
Owner called 1 hour before said the ground was sodden but couldn’t get a refund and so could try and pitch the tent if we wanted to. Got there and a tractor was trying to squish down the mud and many tire tracks left in the field - the man doing this even said he didn’t understand why the owner hadn’t closed the field as in his opinion aswell we wouldn’t be able to get far. Tried to pitch the tent but the pegs wouldn’t stay in the ground due to the wind and the ground being too wet and disturbed, had to leave due to not being able to pitch. Messaged the owner requesting even a partial refund as unable to pitch due to condition of the ground, still has not replied to this message.

Alittle over priced for what it is
It was a basic campsite which was clear from the beginning. However at £35 a night for a camper with electric, I feel that it was over priced. Also there was a lack of gravel making it very muddy! The very new basic toilet block already was broken in parts, hand soap would of been a bonus especially for little children using the toilet. On the plus side the pub next door was pretty good.
