Quiet bell tent glamping within walking distance of Sharrow Beach and Whitsand Bay.

Tregantle Farm Glamping offers an ideal combination of beachside holiday and rural retreat. The farm's three bell tents are positioned in a field less than 10 minutes' walk from the seafront, with a peaceful night’s sleep and robust, mostly eco-friendly amenities guaranteed. Located on Cornwall’s beautiful Rame peninsula – a spot so private it’s known locally as “The Forgotten Corner” – guests are set up for the day with breakfast provided each morning, before exploring the South West’s popular coastline or catching a ferry across the Hamoaze to Plymouth.

The convergence of seaside and countryside makes Tregantle Farm a real hidden gem. A private pathway through the site will take you straight to Whitsand Bay, a stretch of sand and rock beaches that, despite their popularity, are rarely crowded and regularly visited by watersports enthusiasts. If you’re looking for something a little livelier, take a short drive to the quintessentially Cornish town of Torpoint, or hop on the Cawsand Ferry to Plymouth with its harbour a hub of great pubs, bars, restaurants, and the largest Aquarium in the UK, the National Marine Aquarium.

The farm itself is a small and welcoming affair and the glamping field is less than an acre in size. Guests stay in one of three spacious bell tents – one reserved for couples, two for groups of four – tucked away from the Tregantle farmhouse and with a sea view at the top of the field. Friendly and helpful host, Michele, ensures your well-equipped for your stay, with each bell tent boasting trendy upcycled furniture and comfortable proper beds. Amenities are low impact, too, with solar lighting, a bathroom block, and a shared kitchen. As Michele notes, she’ll be available “as much or as little as you need”, greeting you with a cake and cream tea upon your arrival and even providing you with a locally-sourced breakfast hamper as part of the price!

Comfortable beds, delicious brekky
Group trip ·
Michele's attention to detail is unmatched. From the decor to the breakfast. We stayed over a weekend in July for our friends 35th birthday and it was so special. The tents fit four adults easily and were cozy and comfortable, the bathroom was also easy to use only downside was that you had walk about 20 meters to the toilet. Location of the glamsite was great, easy to get to scenic walking paths and the beautiful tregantle beach is 5 minutes away. Michele was always a message away and tended to our every need. She is a lovely host and a truly talented baker

Camping break with incredible food!
With kids ·
We loved our time at Michele's eco glamping site. The pitches were big and the tents were so cosy with really comfy beds. What made this campsite stand apart for us was Michele's excellent service. She bought us cakes on arrival and a delicious breakfast every morning, including a gluten free breakfast for my husband. She was also great at recommendations in the local area. Michele had a great selection of games which we really enjoyed playing with my 3 year old. We didn't know anything about the area before we came but really loved Tregantle bay. Our favourite spot for food was The Canteen at Maker Heights and we went every day for lunch. Thank you for a wonderful break, we will be back!

Glamping heaven
We had the most fabulous two nights at Tregantle Farm. Michele and Colin were the dream hosts and couldn’t have been kinder. They have thought of everything - there is oil, S&P, cling film etc in the kitchen, the tent was so beautifully kitted out and the bathroom was clean and spacious. We loved bbqing, watching the stars round the fire pit and the easy access to the beach. Plus the beds were sooo comfy! Michele turns out to be a fantastic baker and kindly made the most incredible birthday cake as a surprise for my husband. We would love to come back - thank you again Michele!

This is a fantastic place. The tents are spaced out really well giving privacy to everyone. There is a good ratio of facilities to guests.

Food and drink

The Bay is a top-notch restaurant in Cawsand, a 10-minute drive from Tregantle Farm, providing “a view from every table” with its outlook onto the sea. It’s recommended you stop off here for lunch or dinner, with a range of mains, starters, and delicious seafood sandwiches. The Halfway House Inn is just under 15 minutes away, with the stream running out back marking the central point of the twin villages Kingsand and Cawsand, lending the pub its name. With a Cask Marque award for its great quality cask ale, enjoy a tipple and food from its wide menu in its beer garden, only a few steps away from the sea. In Kingsand you can also visit The Stores, a coffee, deli, and lifestyle store serving fresh and local food seven days a week.

Nearby attractions

Along with the nearby Whitsand Bay, the sand shingle beaches at the neighbouring Kingsand and Cawsand are just over a 10-minute drive away, with rock pools in the former for visitors to swim in. The Cawsand Ferry runs from Easter to the last Sunday in October, providing a scenic half-hour journey to Plymouth’s waterside neighbourhood, the Barbican. There’s plenty to see and do there, including the National Marine Aquarium. You’ll see exactly why Plymouth is known as Britain’s Ocean City here, with plenty to inspire kids and adults alike with its wealth of sea creatures to admire.
