Book yourself in at Polborder Glamping and you’ll have nabbed a glamping pod in glorious Cornish countryside. These two timber pods are part of Looe Country Park, a caravan and camping site a couple of miles from Cornwall’s south coast. And there are plenty of reasons to recommend the place. The neat pods are one; the immaculate facilities, great location and consistently lovely staff are others. And then there’s also the good reputation that this independently-owned site has been building for upwards of 50 years.
Looe Country Park is small and peaceful, welcoming just 20 touring caravans or tents at a time alongside five statics and, of course, the two pods. The pods represent a great-value way to stay for a couple or a family of three – and dogs are welcome too. You’ll need to bring your own sheets, duvet and pillows – but everything else is here. It has a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. It’s even got a TV. It’s glamping, for sure, but has a firm focus on function over fashion. The solid roof keeps you dry, the heater keeps you warm but there’s little by way of unnecessary decoration. It’s yours to personalise – or not. You may find you don't have time as we predict you'll be out exploring every day.
This location, just under three miles from Looe, makes that easy. It's about a mile from the South West Coast Path and has plenty of beaches nearby. Choose Millendreath sands for somewhere that’s family friendly, Seaton if you want a swim and Hannafore if you’re taking the dog. There's seafood and Cornish fishing traditions at Looe harbour, adventure at Adrenalin Quarry and a monkey sanctuary down the road. Incredibly, all this is within five miles of your neat little glamping pod at Looe Country Park.
