About There’s something ever so right about describing this valley as ‘enchanting’. The stream that bubbles its way through the 34-acre small holding ranges from a soundscape of gurgling to an almost silent trickle when the weather is dry. The long grasses change from a buttercup speckled yellow in June to a light, sun-scorched green by August. And the trees, hedges and saplings are as inviting to children as any artificial playground. It’s a wonderful place to explore. The Yurt and Lodge here have been fittingly finished to provide the same enchanting feel. Solar-powered fairy lights and lanterns cast their ambient light across the exposed wooden lattice on the inside of each structure, while wood burners and colour-schemed furnishings give a warm and cosy feel. They are, of course, also perfectly practical. Each one sleeps up to five people and are accompanied by a neighbouring cabin with your own private shower and toilet facilities. The mown grass provides children a space to play and also leads you to a communal log cabin that’s home to the main kitchen and dining area. It comes complete with everything you need (including a range cooker) and there’s an outside cooking area with a proper pizza oven and a campfire. Owl Yurt is perhaps the more secluded of the two, with the stream and a line of bushes slightly separating it and involves crossing a tiny bridge to get there, while Pheasant Lodge is closer to the kitchen area. When the sun’s out, it’s all so nice it’s difficult to leave. The raised wooden platforms on which each Yurt and Lodge sits has outdoor furniture where you can sit and enjoy a sun-downer and you can even put your feet up and relax under the guise of ‘supervising the kids’. Enchanting though it may be, there is life beyond the valley (really, there is) and once you drag yourself away you’ll be quick to realise that the coast is the real draw here. It’s a 15-minute drive to the beaches of the south and the charming harbour town of Looe, stacked up along the steep sides of the river valley. From there you can chug out on the ferry to the nature reserve of Looe Island or join the coastal path to wander to neighbouring coves and beaches.

Pheasant Lodge
Fantastic stay at Pheasant Lodge
We had the most amazing time staying in Pheasant Lodge, Amanda and Allan were lovely hosts, great communication and information. The lodge was stunning, we loved waking up to the hand painted ceiling, at night it was magical with the fairy lights too. The beds were comfy and we stayed warm all night. They had thought of absolutely everything, the kitchen and bathroom was so well equipped and made our stay even easier. I would definitely recommend Pheasant Lodge to friends and family, it’s also in a great location to go on days out like The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Owl Yurt
I would highly recommend Enchanted Valley Yurts to anyone who wants to be close to the local towns and beaches. Excellent facilities, beautiful surroundings and friendly hosts. Our 5 year old loved playing in the fields and has very fond memories from making friends with the other children on site.

Owl Yurt
We had an amazing 4 night stay in Owl yurt! The yurt was well furnished, decorated and extremely warm and comfortable. The decking provided table and chairs with added sun loungers and chimenea. The kitchen area exceeded expectations with all facilities and amenities you could ask for. The use of your own toilet and shower was also an added bonus! We used the yurts for exploring nearby beaches and towns and can honestly say was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had. Thanks to Amanda and Allan for attentiveness and hospitality. We will definitely be booking for next year

Owl Yurt
We stayed in the Owl Yurt for 3 nights and have been blown away! The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and a nature lover's dream. We loved the Yurt and the facilities are excellent. We will definitely be coming back next year to recharge our batteries! The location is also fantastic - some beautiful places in Cornwall to explore which are close. We took our little boy to the Eden Project for the first time which was only a 20 minute drive. Highly and thoroughly recommend a stay here!

Owl Yurt
We have just returned from an amazing 4 night stay in the Owl yurt, feeling really lucky to have managed to secure a booking at this hidden gem. Set in the most beautiful valley well away from any hustle and bustle with the feel of the great outdoors but with all the mod cons needed. Everything was immaculate, especially the kitchen and bathroom, and the hosts include a wealth of added extras that took away the stress of making sure we remembered everything. The yurt was stunning, a really unique experience and the kids loved being able to roam free in nature. The only negative is that we weren't there longer. Thank you to Amanda and Allan, we really hope to visit again 😊

Nearby attractions
There are plenty of walks and trails directly from the campsite – including a walk to Porfell Wildlife Park (01503 220211), an animal sanctuary with exotic animals from around the world. You could head to Bodmin Moor for more challenging walks or enjoy the beautiful coastal path leading down into coves and beaches. Looe and Polperro take you back in time with their interesting streets wandering down to the harbour and beaches. The Monkey Sanctuary (01503 262532) is just the other side of Looe and well worth a visit, set on the cliffs it is the atmospheric home to rescued monkeys with beautiful views and gardens. Or visit the nature reserve on Looe Island by boat.
Food and drink
There are plenty of top places to eat and drink around Looe (and plenty with great live music too). For something a little different, Ocean Earth (01503 263080) serve great Thai food and there's also a Chinese (01503 264500) and, of course, fish and chips (01503 263091). In terms of pubs, the closest to the campsite is The Jubilee Inn (01503 220312) at Pelynt – excellent food for lunch and evening meals – while The Rashleigh Inn (‘the inn on the beach’; 01726 813991) at Polkerris has the best views. Rick Stein's restaurant and café (01841 532700) in Padstow is the best for fresh fish. For everyday supplies, the village of Lanreath has a community run shop and post office (01503 220997) selling local produce and everyday needs. It's within walking distance, although up a steep hill. For more major supplies there's a Spar in Pelynt (01503 220239), a Co-Op in Looe (01503 262249) or major supermarkets in Liskeard and Bodmin.
