What to do Carrs Farm offers a retreat from your action packed days in a 17th century converted barn. The bunkhouse (barn)/hostel sleeps up to 21 persons and we also offer camping on our land. The Farm has two distinct parts, hay meadows at the bottom and rough grazing at the top. These have distinctive biomes and we are proud of our work to maintain biodiversity in these systems.Pitch your tent on our excellently located farm, with only 5 pitches available you will have room to roam. The bunkhouse is also available to be booked, a compost toilet is available and depending on availability in the bunkhouse you will be able to use those facilities. A brilliant location for exploring Weardale and the North Pennines AONB. The farm is farmed in a sustainable manner, with an emphasis on biodiversity. We are very proud of our ground nesting birds, including curlews, and the range of wildflower in our grass, with several types of orchid visible in the summer.

Carrs Farm

This was my first time camping and I can honestly say this was a brilliant first place to visit. It was a very peaceful stay, wonderful views with lots of wildlife right outside your tent and plenty more if you venture out. Owls are a personal favourite so being able to watch 2 barn owls in flight every evening/night was a lovely surprise. Owner was also really nice and made me feel very welcome. Highly recommend, I will definitely be returning for future camping trips. Thanks again Patrick.

Carrs Farm

I loved the kitchen and the soft drinking water. It was really calm and peaceful there and now I'm relaxed. Patrick is very pleasant and friendly.
