The Mesita Ranch is an outdoorsman’s paradise, home to various species of roaming wildlife and land to explore.
Visit 10 acres and getaway to this private escape known as The Mesita Ranch!
On the property you can enjoy your off-road toys like ATVs, bikes, dirt bikes, side-by-side vehicles, and snowmobiles on the land: but agree to operate at your own risk.
Nearby you can also fish for trout, float on a raft, kayak, or swim if you desire all within 10 minutes from the site. While not guaranteed, it is common to see various species of roaming wildlife on the property.
The land is situated by the ghost town of Mesita, where you will find present day abandoned buildings and past claims of UFO sightings in the area to explore.
Find yourself in a peaceful and quiet off-the-grid oasis on the frontier while still being connected to civilization. This location receives 4G LTE service from all of the major network carriers.
Don’t forget your own camping supplies, materials to start the fire-pit, and tent! Please remove any trash or waste you have created upon departure.
Be sure to adhere to local Costilla County fire restrictions. There is a first aid kit and fire extinguisher for emergency use.
While The Mesita Ranch sprawls beyond the assigned 10 acres, we ask that you please remain on the designated areas.
The property is accessed by a private dirt road close to Colorado Highway 159 and it is recommended to travel in a sufficient vehicle.
Guests acknowledge at booking that they will travel on a county maintained dirt road to arrive and will receive exact directions after payment.
The climate on the land is subject to changing weather conditions: hail, ice, rain, snow, or wind may exist.
Drought conditions are possible and as a result can fluctuate the local water depths.
The Mesita Ranch is nearby to many points of interest located just a short drive away in every direction.
To the North is the Stabilization Reservoir just before The Stations of the Cross in San Luis, Colorado’s oldest town.
To the South in close proximity is the New Mexico border, but continue an hour to the popular Taos Ski Valley for year round mountain activities.
To the East you will find the famous Rio Grande River and historic Lobato Bridge for water recreation close by.
This location is also less than an hour away to Alamosa and the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve!
Enjoy the vast, and tallest Sand Dunes in North America, where you can enjoy spectacular views for only $25 a vehicle.
The town is known as the hub of the San Luis Valley, where you will find more civilization unlike this remote, off-the-grid experience!
Alamosa is home to many national chains and over 10,000 people. Please see the Guidebook for expanded details of what is around The Mesita Ranch.
