Camping At The Rocky Mountains
Very timely and helpful in the communications process
Camping At The Rocky Mountains
Good location for hikes
This spot is located conveniently near some of the Rio Grande trailheads. Beautiful view. It should be noted though that there's no bathroom access (like the description indicates). The host was friendly. Our phone maps didn't lead us right to the driveway so we called and he was helpful. We were directed to an area that had some garbage and glass so we were a little worried about the pups getting into it.

Camping At The Rocky Mountains
Deano was a great host and the view as beautiful. Really relaxing stay. Thanks!
Camping At The Rocky Mountains
The location was great. It sits about an hour away from the sand dunes, 30 min from Hooper (which has a gator farm and hot springs), an hour from Salida, and an hour and a half from Cañon City and Buena Vista. The host offered to bring water to us as needed. It can be very windy, so getting a fire started was hard. Biggest downside for us was that the listing said it had a portable toilet, but there was not one available at the time we went. It may be added in the future since it is a pretty new site, but it was disappointing that it was not there when we camped because we had chosen this site over a cheaper site because it had bathrooms.
