Gold mining, apple orchards, pumpkin farms, camel farm just to name a few. Wind down by enjoying a glass of wine sitting by a fit pit while gazing at the stars. This off road mountain side property is situated on what feels like the edge of the world. The Salton Sea (60+ miles away) can be seen in the distance on a clear day. The property is a modern tiny home fully equipped to make your glamping experience remarkable. Amenities include full (but tiny) bathroom, kitchen dining table for two, Coleman two burner camping stove, refrigerator, microwave, TV, brand new queen Murphy bed with nova memory foam mattress for your comfort, 2 full sized air mattresses, smokeless outdoor fire pit, and outdoor seating for four.  Go boating or fishing at nearby Lake Cuyamaca followed by a delicious meal and award winning pie in downtown Julian just minutes away. Wine tasting, breweries and cideries all nearby for your enjoyment. Explore this official California historic landmark by going on a gold mining tour, visiting a camel farm or strolling through charming shops. Wander through century old apple orchards, go berry picking, hike on vast trails or picnic at one of the half dozen community parks in the area. Endless activities make this the perfect family getaway.  At night, cozy up by the campfire with a glass of wine. Be on the lookout for views of the Milky Way in the starry sky above. This property is off-grid and uses Solar panels with batteries to run the refrigerator, air conditioning and recessed led lights. Also there is always a cool breeze at night with the windows open.

Had to leave within 2 hours.
Checkin was weird as the black gate was already open and we couldn't close it. There weren't any arrival instructions so we spent a few minutes outside figuring out the keylock door and also the digital pad. Sheena opened the door remotely somehow so I guess this wasn't really a self check-in experience. Actual inside, on first glance, was not bad. You could tell the place was old with the wear and tear, but one crazy thing was the space around the toilet. I'm only 5'11 and my knees were up against the walls while sitting on the toilet and it was extremely uncomfortable. Area was nice and no doubt the view would've been great at night, but we didn't last more than 2 hours in this place. The sheets, blankets, and bed smelled of mold/mildew, and one of the pillowcases actually had black/green mold on it. The blanket also had brown paw prints on it as well. The last cleaner did a horrendous job and there was no quality control. Luckily Sheena was super nice and cooperative about a refund - but the Hipcamp service fee was already paid/nonrefundable and we spent 2 hours driving to even get here and 2 hours to leave.

Great little place. Just what we hoped it would be. Close to Julian but a world away on its own stunning spot. We had everything we needed. We had a great time. Would definitely recommend.

Sheena’s tiny home was the perfect spot for our weekend in Julian. Excellent amenities, a comfy bed, and an amazing view right from the bedroom window. We would absolutely come back again!

Getaway visit
Beautiful location with lots of great places to eat and drink locally. Sheena has everything decorated with intention to purpose and to promote a sense of relaxation. Even though it was snowy, rainy, and windy which prevented us from hiking there was plenty to do and enjoy both in the house and in Julian!
